Great little boozer for a pint after work!! Best when the weather is good and one can mill around enjoying a very good guiness outside....

A nice little pub in a convenient location. Didn't fancy staying in the hotel bar so ventured out and stood outside on a nice summer evening with colleagues. Sells a number of traditional ales and seems to cater for whatever is your tipple. It's not on a main road so you can chat with friends in piece and not feel... More

During a recent weeks stay near here, we made the C and G our "local" watering hole. Very friendly, considerate service. Very good brews on tap. Small, cozy, and stereotypical in all the right ways. I would go out of my way to visit again.

Absolutely lovely quaint little pub in the heart of London. Not much room inside and the beers on offer aren't great as it's a Shepard Neame, but a gorgeous place for a pint when the sun is shining.

If you're looking for a traditional pub in amongst the chains and madness of central London you should look no further! This is a fabulous local place with a great atmosphere. The prices are very reasonable and it's well worth a visit if you can squeeze in - it's absolutely tiny but charming in every way!

This is what might be described as a genuine London local pub. It is extremely busy as a lot of local workers call in for a few drinks at the end of the day. It is on a corner in Palace Street, just off Buckingham Palace Road and as one approaches one gets the feel of the London pub tradition.... More

This is what a proper London pub is in my book. On a corner, small, good beers, efficient staff & rammed full of locals. I arrived on my own and didn't feel intimidated walking in alone & ordering a pint and just standing & waiting for my cousin. I'd pop in again anytime.

Small, with 'local' clientele in the evening and very, very good beers from Britain's oldest brewery, Shepherd Neame. (Yes, I did the brewery tour - once in the 70s, once in 2015.) Despite Casque Marque, CAMRA and other schemes, it's still hard to find real ale served in good condition, in a quiet atmosphere with no background music or games.... More

If you want a decent pint near Victoria / Buckingham Palace then give this a try at the weekend when the suits are at home . It's a tiny space and during the week after work it's mobbed. Staff are efficient rather than effusive but if you do somehow manage to blag one of the tables it's a cosy feel.... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighbourhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
