Our evening in Melanies was quite funny due to the.view outside, looking at the entrance of SOHO region. The restaurant has nice open italian atmosphere, also clean. The food was good, but contained a large amount of salt, dissapointing due to that.

Tea on Saturday night very tasty and extremely reasonable for central London. The staff made us feel very welcome and my little boy loved the attention he got.

A typical traditional Italian but the food was disappointing. I ordered mussels to start and received just 6 very bland and tasteless mussels. The pasta vongole was better. The spaghetti was cooked well but hardly any clams and it all lacked flavor. My husbands pizza...More

We were looking for somewhere a bit quieter off the main drag. This was perfect in that respect. Good choice of food available and pleasant staff. Table cloths made this a bit old fashioned rather than up market. But again ok and reasonable prices. A...More

Poor service, tasteless food. They don't even swap the paper table cloth between diners! Save yourself and eat elsewhere.

The garlic bread, just something so standard in UK was just miserably made. The bread used was not fresh. Only the top was covered with butter, garlic and aromatics. The rest of it was just... bread basically. The lamb cooked in oven (agnelli al furno)...More

Melanie is a very buzzy little Italian restaurant. Nothing fancy, just a good choice of food and nice wine at surprisingly good prices for the west end of London. We went for a pre-theatre lunch on a Saturday. They were busy but the service was...More

We dined at this restaurant while away on business and the service was atrocious. During our visit we were made to feel like nothing but a nuisance and an inconvenience which is so disappointing coming from a company which pride themselves in customer service. Almost...More

If that was me and that happened to my wife , i would have complained straight away or even the next day, They usually keep to a very high standard , you need to let them know
Please can you tell me what drinks are included in the mini-fridge. Is it stocked regularly? Is top shelf alcohol only served in the piano bar? Also - how long is the beach and is it good sand for walking? Huge thanks

An Italian restaurant out of the ordinary, Melanies specialises in Neapolitan food, setting it apart from the numerous other dining rooms in Londons central Soho area. Located on the notorious Old Compton Street, close to Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square and the numerous theatres and cinemas the West End has to offer, Melanies is easy to spot thanks to its large awning proudly displaying the red, green and white of the Italian flag. Inside, youll find a dining room clad in much light wood and full of light, traditional, simple and comfortable in its dcor. In the kitchen, the focus is very much on the use of good ingredients, the chefs sourcing local and seasonal produce for their classic Neapolitan dishes. Youll recognise many of Melanies offerings, from favourite pizzas to well known pasta dishes, but youll also be tempted to try the specialties of the house which include the typical ingredients of Naples and the surrounding countryside and have roots in the Greco-Roman period.
