Great pub, decent selection of handpumped ales, willing to let you try before you buy - members of the Cask Marque scheme - although Julien the friendly French bar man knew nothing about this. Nice decor, all in all a pub worth visiting

We had dinner at The Pig's Ear and it was delicious! Downstairs the pub is buzzing (in a good way, but maybe a little too loud to have a dinner conversation) but the upstairs rooms is quiet and lovely, quite romantic. The windows are "old style" so rather drafty, so would recommend to sit maybe in the middle of the... More

We went to the cinema up the road tonight and as we came out thought we would pop in for a bite. We were told that all tables in the dining area were booked in a rather abrupt way, with only 2 couples dining when we walked in. We went to Busaba up the road and had a lovely meal... More

We were in the private room upstairs for drinks and dinner. The room is gorgeous and was beautifully decorated. The service was amazing - the waitress just did not stop - refreshing drinks, serving dinner, and all with a smile on her face - there must have been 25 or 30 of us - I was so impressed. The canapes... More

But we weren't comfortable with their policy of no cash, only credit cards..and they kept your credit card at the bar. So we didn't partake but were told it was worth our walk..Oh well

This pub is one of our 'locals'. It has a great atmosphere, dogs are allowed and the Sunday roast is amazing. I had the best roast beef ever and that's including some very fancy places. It isn't a 'bllngy' looking pub, the decor is fairly plain but the service is very good and the food is fab and it has... More

Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
