From J Boy of Derby Situated on Fleet Street next to St Brides church this is a charming old world pub that serves a good pint with friendly efficient bar staff. The menu looked interesting but did not eat here due to lack of time. This is a real good local real ale pub in the heart of the city,... More

This place is pure history! If you like somewhere to drink that has real character, then this should be your destination. I believe that Wren had this place built so that his St Paul's workers had somewhere to drink, and it's still providing the same hospitality today. Serves a great pint too. Creators of new drinking establishments should model their... More

The Old Bell is another genuine old London pub that is on my list, lovely warm atmosphere, friendly staff, I would have liked to try out the Pies but we had other eating plans, good selection of beers, a must visit establishment.

Lovely pub very full but we were able to get a table. Brilliant menu and very friendly staff. We just needed a quick lunch, they have a pie menu which is very traditional along with a standard menu. All in all good food, nice setting and friendly staff.

We dined here with friends who were visiting London and wanted to see some of the sights. A quaint old pub which they really liked. They had a good selection of ales, beers and wines. The menu is quite extensive and has something for everyone's taste. I went for the Hunter's chicken which proved to be very nice. A thoroughly... More

Lovely old pub on Fleet Street. Had a nice pint of Fullers in an unassuming but authentic ambiance. Not too busy or noisy, background music unobtrusive. Staff pleasant and range of beers and gins very good.

I had a lovely fish and chips lunch with a pint after visiting St. Paul's. The food was great and the staff were very helpful when I had questions about ordering. Some Italian ladies (non-English speakers) came in after me and the bar staff person was very patient in making sure they understood the menu and were able to order... More

Popped in for a drink to meet up with friends and ended up staying for 3 and half hours. A lively place at the Ludgate Circus end of Fleet Street. Plenty of beers to chose from and the complete range of wines and spirits. Limited seating as this is a fairly small public house. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
