It was very busy when we stepped into the wine bar but the attentive staff offered us a couple of waiting with wine options until a table came free. A welcoming gesture despite being busy. Staff were very knowledgeable on wine. Accompanying platters of cheese and charcuterie were delicious. We didn't wait to long for a table but was comfortable... More

I have been quite a fan of Bedales, albeit on the pricey side. But, today a few things were disappointing and a quick explanation should quickly ensure your agreement... 1. Such a limited selection of wine from menu, it's a wine merchant! 2. Want a good 'quaffer' with friends, err no see above or choose from the racks and... well,... More

After a full morning at Borough Market, my husband and I decided to pop in to Bedales for a glass of wine. The wine selection was amazing, the cheese and meat platters looked good, and the staff was helpful and friendly.

We booked a private wine tasting workshop for a group of six. This was set up in a large upstairs room. We had five wines to taste, presented by Maria who was excellent, answered all our questions and made the evening very enjoyable. A good range of tasty cheeses and charcuterie was also provided. The room was available till 10pm... More

Went here on Sunday evening for cheese & wine with two friends. Great selection of wine and a fantastic meat/cheese sharing platter! Was very busy unlike the rest of Borough market! Wine isn't that cheap but not hugely overpriced either. Would definitely go back even if just for the platter!

Best service I've had in London from a wine bar. Nick the warm, smiley waiter topped our drinks all night with keeping our table tip top clean. Fantastic atmosphere with no banging music. Just people there to enjoy a good chat with good wine with amazing smoked ham and cheese. Evelina the manager, a charming professional lady, took care of... More

We met with our daughter and her friends. It has a warm, cozy and very friendly. The food was "spot-on", very tasty. Not being from the UK, it was a very unexpected pleasant surprise.

Went there last night for a drink .Waitress said there were no tables and booked all night and we could not even have a glass of wine at the bar .Have to say she was rude and abrupt .I accept it was a busy evening but could have said the same thing in a friendly manner .If you do not... More

Dan who took the tasting was great really informative fun and engaging. The wines were superb the setting in the room upstairs was fantastic I can not... More

This is a nice location and the atmosphere is good, so I would recommend it on that basis. However, the whole experience was somewhat spoiled by a waitress who took it upon herself to tell us off when we used one of her wine glasses...we felt really uncomfortable with her odd behaviour so we decided to leave.

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
