It was a truly great meal. The smoked trout was refreshing , the rabbit confit succulent, and the lemon tart irresistible! We went for dinner on a Thursday evening and the dinning room was very busy. The service was pleasant and efficient. All in all, a great evening! Judith P.

My wife and I enjoyed the shepards pie. The portion was smaller than expected and a bit soupy. The marrow bone added flavor but decreased the meal slightly. The artichoke chick pea side was very nice. But the rhubard desert was bland and seemed days old and recently defrosted as it melted on my plate. I enjoyed the signature cocktail... More

Shepherds remains a Parliamentarians haunt with bells synchronised with those at the House of Commons so Members of Parliament can dash back to vote. I had an end of day glass of wine with a friend that was so good we kept ordering - we should have gone for the bottle straight away! Recommended.

I had dinner at Shepherds on Tuesday 2 May 2016 with 4 friends but I feel I have to apologize to my friends for my very poor choice. The first thing I discovered is that Richard Shepherd (of Langan's fame) no longer has anything to do with this eatery, they are just trading on his name and the past reputation... More

Loud yet squeaky voiced employee ruined what might have been a pleasant meal. Highly unprofessional conduct as this woman either snarled at or flirted with staff and customers alike. Not to be repeated

I come here for after work drinks often - especially to take advantage of happy hour. Gorgeous setting, very friendly but professional staff, great selection of drinks. I hope to try the food one day but haven't got round to it yet - maybe next time.

Fantastic find, thanks to OpenTable! I was in London on a business trip, and found myself without a dining partner on a Friday night after meeting with associates at a pub. I wanted some traditional English fare - so searched on that criteria. Shepard's of Westminster came up and sounded interesting, and it was within walking distance of my hotel.... More

The restaurant is located near Westminster and Millbank. If you happen to be in the area, it can be a good place to visit. They serve a very nice English 'champagne', which is really worth trying. Starters are tiny portions. I had smoked trout, which was really a bit pitiful. A small slab of trout filet with some beetroot. Taste... More

A fine old fashioned restaurant with super ambience, (no awful piped music!), and fantastic service from the moment you walk in the door - though my Uncle was rather put out at staff whipping away an empty plate before the other diners at the table at finished - and maybe he's right. However, the food, whilst tasty (especially the clotted... More

Shepherd's closed for some time and this was my first visit since it reopened - it's looking absolutely fabulous. A friend and I enjoyed a glass each of the English Bacchus which was lovely so it turned into several :-)

Staying in Westminster

Neighbourhood Profile
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
