It is a nice pub with good selection of beers and drinks The food we had (Sunday roast) was ok, nothing special.

Excellent bartenders and staff! Good food at reasonable price. Nice pub atmosphere without loud and excessive drinking found in pubs that feature sports.

The beer was great and the bartenders and staff even better. A drink I have in the states the bartender hadn't heard of but when I told him about it he mixed one and it was the best I ever had. Attentive and accommodating.

Used to come to this place ten years ago and it was a real pub. Now its like a starbucks that serves alcohol. The downstairs is no longer open. A real bummer.

My friend just got served an expired bottle of diet coke from February 2016 which tasted terrible and did not even hear a word of apology. We came here a month ago and while seating at the table, staff have put 'reserved' sign on our table, gently kicking us out. outreagous. Such a shame as the pub has lovely deco... More

Popped in here for a bite and a pint one evening this week. My guest had a little and well-behaved dog and we did ask the manager if it was ok to bring him in. Not a problem and what's more they even gave the little guy a bowl of water! Great service! The menu was fine. When time permits,... More

The Porchester is a very friendly pub. Spacious and recently refurbished. After a long day in London it was with great relief that we happened upon this pub in Bayswater and decided to give it a go. It was busy with all manner of people enjoying an end of day drink/meal from business types to students to tourists to young... More

A corner location near Queensway puts this pub firmly in tourist central. Sadly, the staff also confirm any perception for poor service. Not a smile, courtesy, friendly welcome between then. Young's should do better.

I've got one pint of london IPA, a sandwich and a fish and chips, everything very good. There is a small and nice secret garden. Suggested.

During our week in London we visited The Porchester twice. We found the service top rate and very friendly. The food was really quite good. I had the special one afternoon - grilled chicken breast with Brie and carmalized onions. Fantastic! The shepherd's pie is wonderful, too. And the beer is cold and selection good. Can't go wrong with this... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
