We visited the restaurant on a busy midweek and were seated downstairs. The waiter was excellent throughout and explains the menu and each of the dishes to you. The portion sizes are just about enough with the beef shin ragu needing singling out for special praise. It is not the cheapest food but the quality just about justifies the price.

My partner and I visited Trullo for lunch for our anniversary, and from the moment we stepped through the door the staff made us feel special. I have been meaning to try Trullo since they opened and wish I had years ago. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was buzzing - we will definitely be back. The best experience... More

Some mixed reviews so went with trepidation. Completely won over though. Upstairs is definitely better than downstairs and we had a choice of tables by the window which was fine. Menu was limited but I like that as they can concentrate on what they are offering and we had no difficulty choosing. Sweetbreads with a good salad followed by Monkfish... More

We went to Trullo when it first opened, didn't have a great experience, so we left it a few years and hoped it had settled into its rhythm. I was seriously unimpressed. Our waitress was amazing and brilliant. Loved the basement decor and ambiance. Starter crab pasta, lovely texture, but not enough crab. Never mind, let's see how the main... More

Hello BarnsburyTraveller, I'm sorry that your main course wasn't to your taste on this occasion. We do try to check back with every customer and make things right, where they might have gone wrong. It's completely our fault if we didn't pick up on this and I'd appreciate the opportunity to investigate how we've let this slip through the net.... More

Six of us had dinner here for a birthday celebration. You need to book. Its not cheap but the standards are high and the small menu is wonderful. We decided to share everything which was a great idea as we loved it all! Service was exceptional from staff who knew what they were doing. Lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Food just did not justify the price. £26 for a very small, bland tasting piece of monkish! Very little invention and just simple food that could be made at home. No wow factor whatsoever. If everything had been half the price then I'd have been happy.

This place is one of our go to places when we want to go somewhere super lovely with incredible food!! We have probably been around 10 times or more and we have recommend it numerous times to friends who have all fallen in love with it. The restaurant is modern, beautiful and quaint with a much darker more intimate feeling... More

Always wanted to try this Italian place right near Highbury Corner. Finally visited late on a Saturday night for dinner and the place was buzzing. We enjoyed two entrees (rabbit fritti - crumbed rabbit - crispy and delicious; ravioli), two mains (beef shin ragu (main size rather than entree) and sand sole), two desserts (lemon tart and panna cotta) -... Still relatively popular, but did not enjoy being asked to sit downstairs when upstairs was empty. The atmosphere down there was not our cup of tea. We were moved back upstairs to one of the empty tables and settled to what should have been a perfect meal. But the beef shin ragu was tiny in terms of portion size, so... More

Hello there, Thanks for taking the time, I'm so sorry you didn't have a good experience with us. It's totally unacceptable that the ragu contained sinew, and that you were asked to vacate your table in line with your turn time given that the main course had taken too long. If you can contact me to tell when you are... More
