If you like the classic French, extremely fine dining experience this restaurant is a great example (with a Michelin star). The restaurant was clearly a town house before - and the diners sit on multiple floors. The rooms are fairly dark - making this an ideal romantic location. The food was amazing. We had the tasting menu with the fine... More

We took the tour for 75 £ per person not including wine and service. There were 7 miniature dishes and unstoppable flood of bread with butter. Dishes were very estetic, but too small. Asparagus was lame. The chocolate for the desert was too sweet and disappointing. Service was very slow though the restaurant was rarher empty. Does not worth the... More

Dinner last night with my wife. Great service, excellent food especially the Black Truffle Risotto and the duck, amazing French wine all delivered in a very romantic ambiance. Highly recommend it for your special occasion......

I had a lovely time as part of a group of four at the restaurant. Each course of the meal looked and tasted great and the service was good. It was an unusual setting and felt like a private living room dining session! The only criticism was my lamb main was very cold which ruined the main event for me

Was brought here as a surprise from a dear friend. From the moment you ring the bell you enter a charming world and experience. The menu offered a la carte or tasting. We opted for a la carte and selected 3 dishes - I had asparagus to start with peas - delicious and fresh - followed by fabulous crab which... More

We celebrated a friend's birthday last week and were treated once again to an incredible lunch. On this special occasion we chose the Tasting Menu with wine pairings - my goodness, our sommelier presented us with some very different and amazing wines from around the world. We all enjoyed every course; for me the duck was a real bonus, cooked... More

My last name is Gauthier, so when we saw this restaurant listed in a travel guide we had to go. We were not disappointed! The attention of staff coupled with fantastic food made for an evening we won't soon forget. It is not inexpensive, but worth it! Merci beau coup!

To all of the wonderful staff. We came here on a recommendation and don't regret it. What a beautiful house, and from the moment we arrived the staff were so attentive but but not overly so. We chose the tasting menu and every dish was a delight. The truffle risotto was out of this world, very glad we chose this... More

My husband and I returned to Gauthier after more than a year. I am happy to report that this time the restaurant excelled in customer service: friendly, polite, professional, efficient and relaxed in equal measures. Food is competently executed and well presented although old favourites risotto and the Louis XV dessert fell short of excellent. Still this restaurant remains the... More

This restaurant is one of our favourites and for good reason. Food is imaginative, interesting and satisfies the pallet in many ways. Service is attentive but discreet. Always a super experience.

Description
Having earned a star within a year of opening Gauthier Soho, Alexis Gauthier is described by Zagat guide as "...one of the Best New French food destinations in London...". With an emphasis on vegetables in all dishes, Alexis provides a seasonal tasting menu with the best possible ingredients (British where possible) for omnivores and a vegetable option, as well as an A la Carte and lunch/pre-theatre option. All served in a chic Soho Townhouse where the staff really make you feel special. There are also five private dining rooms for parties of all sizes.

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
