I went to Maharaja's for dinner. We had samosas for starters and a chicken korma and a lamb biriyani as main course. Food was very nice. The restaurant is a bit narrow so you sit very close to other guests.

I had to give it one star as they dont have an option of No Star!! We ordered for a vegetable, dal and breads.. 1 portion of each. This... More

Friendly guys working hard, but food was poor. I eat Indian a lot and this was not up to scratch. Decent size portions though but won't be back.

Worse Indian meal I have ever had. Chicken was as dry as a bone, portions small, ( I have never seen a smaller nan bread) and way overpriced.

Although this restaurant does not look, like much from the outside, the experience once you enter is truly fantastic. The entire menu, (which I worked my way through during several visits), is incredible, and the presentation is wonderful. The staff are professional, helpful and extremely engaging with their customers. I will certainly return next time I am in the area.

There are restaurants which are mainly targeting hurried turists and offer no atmosphere at all. This is one of those restaurants. The food is medium-low standard, and I think it is not worth the money paid. Better indian restaurants available in the range of a few hundred metres.

Initially, we wanted to have a sit-down meal but as soon as we were seated, we realised it was not a good choice. The people at the next table we were so close, we could have been sharing the bottle of wine. I understand that many restaurants are like this, however, at the time, the place was practically empty but... More

Northern Indian cuisine with reasonable price as well compared to similar restaurants. Service unfortunately was poor.

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
