These people think that just because they make Italian food it's going to be automatically good. Our food was completely tasteless. I'm an Italian living in London and there are much better restaurants around for half of the price. The location is good and the venue is fancy. I guess it does the job for those who don't know much... More

If you want some excellent quality but reasonably priced Italian this is the place to go in the city. Portions are large and filling and wine is excellent and not stupidly priced. Is it absolute top of the range fancy Michelin food? NO but if you want a big plateful of bistro Italian look no further. I've had business meetings,... More

Located in the middle of Devonshire Square, this little Italian gem has great food, excellent service, and a fun, lively atmosphere. The restaurant has a real family run feeling but is in the middle of a busy office environment. With both indoor and outdoor seating, Appennino is very versatile and prepared for a cold day or a beautiful sunny day... More

Waiter insisted on giving us a sharing platter of starters that none of us asked for. I asked for prawns which didn't come. Instead we received lots of garlic bread, three bits of Parma ham between six, just four portions of anchovies and mozzarella on more bread, a small handful of olives and some artichokes again not enough to go... As I work nearby, I have been to this restaurant twice now. After my last visit, just this lunchtime, I doubt my colleagues and I will ever be back again. We were spoken to so rudely by the waitress on several occasions, that it completely put us off. It's little things like this which makes or breaks a customer's experience, and... More

Visited here on a Friday evening. Friendly greeting, seated immediately, and made to feel welcome. Good selection of food and wines, and offered a tasting choice of wine before making my decision. Staff were attentive and knowledgable about the menu. Several of the waiting team engaged with us during the course of the meal, and they really epitomised Italian hospitality.... More

I went for lunch with a couple of old work friends. One of them had recommended Appennino's. What an excellent place it turned out to be! As we walked in we receive a warm greeting and were shown straight to our table. The owner/manager came over and chatted to us about the day's specials. He took his time with us... More

Dined here on three occasions on a recent visit to London, staying in the vicinity of Devonshire Square. Food, service and prices were all excellent.

A regular lunch visit in the summer months. The service team lead by Carmen are very helpful. They have a fantastic Gavi wine to try. Veal is good, pasta and pizza great and the Milanese is very nice, good Caesar salads.

I ordered Spaghetti with clams (£16), flavours were good, there was enough chilli in the dish. Spaghetti was cooked al dente. I would consider it as a restaurant that is good for business lunch but would be too expensive for everyday lunch.

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
