Holiday Inn is always guaranteed fresh clean everything in your room which is my main reason for using them however the service at the desk and bar was exceptional especially the 2 lovely, smiley Italian girls.

Original and delicious food, minimalist in presentation & very well executed. Service is excellent without being obtrusive, and the restaurant itself is well designed with a Scandinavian feel. Overall, reasonably priced and definitely worth a visit.

we went here with some foodie friends but unfortunately came away disappointed. The service was excellent which was helped by the fact that on this Friday evening, the restaurant was almost empty and we got the full attention of the staff. However, we found the...More

Located in trendy Clerkenwell, this restaurant is typically minimalist in the stereotypical scandinavian way. Clean and un-fussy. The menu is not long (usually a good sign). Tasting menu is £72, but I preferred to make up my own 4 course menu from alacarte. Delicious fresh...More

North Road is not flash or pretentious, but for those in the know, it is one of the best places in London at the moment for innovative cooking that will titillate the taste buds. The food is original, but not for the sake of it,...More

Amazing food, great service as expected from a Michelin star but the variety and difference in the cuisine to your usual stuff will blow you away. It is a must to visit here if you haven't. The tasting menu at the chefs table is recommended....

High hopes (which may have been unfair to start with), but I have to say very disappointed with North Road, particularly given at the price point (over £500 for four, not even on the tasting menu). I may have caught an "off-night", and there were...More

Always in search of affordable good places to eat, I stumbled upon this little gem just outside of London's zone 1. With our aperitif we got specially prepared easter eggs and I must say that creativity was a general theme. The portions were not abundant,...More

I really like being surprised and delighted - North Road gets it really right. And because the staff are shown the entire process for each dish, they're able to be very knowledgeable. Really superb. Not cheap but this is exciting food which is well worth...More

Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site
of an ancient meat market which remains in operation
today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally
renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and
some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a
focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough
time wondering through the area's maze of streets and
you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky

A Scandinavian influence is the order of the day at in North Road restaurant; the food is best described as modern European, with strong Nordic influences courtesy of owner and head chef, Danish born Christoffer Hruskova. The dcor, too, features clean lines and handmade oak chairs. The name is a nod to the restaurant's location, based in London's Clerkenwell. This was the starting point for the pre-Roman Great North Road, which linked the English capital with the Scottish one, and also refers to Hruskova's Danish heritage. Years of experience cooking in top-rated kitchens in Copenhagen, Sydney, San Francisco and, more recently, Islington have made Hruskova what he is today, however the menu reflects his true passion: clean, simple Scandinavian flavours made with the freshest local produce. Comparisons to that other famous Danish chef, Ren Redzepi of Noma, aren't too far off the mark; specialities include dishes like Norfolk deer loin with beetroot, burnt hay and smoked bone marrow.
