Firstly try and prebook a table as it's busy here. Menu is small and you won't get your typical madras curry here as it's a Gujarati restaurant. Asked for my curry to be very spicy which they could only offer green chillies separate for me to add. My dish came out and the food was warm not hot so requested... More

Second time at Masala, the food was as good as last time, we had a thali, an experience we always enjoy. Book a table during the week-end, it might get very busy

We both felt like a curry to warm up because it was so cold in London! After shopping near our hotel in Mayfair we started looking for a curry restaurant that didn't have a long queue! Lucky for us they seated us immediately and we were delighted with the food. Honestly one of the best curries we have ever had!... More

We both had the Thali. Perhaps someone should explain Masala Zone what an authentic Thali actually is - it definitely isn't a mix of random curry and veggies served in the same plate! That's what we got here and a bill of £50 didn't justify this at all! On the bright side, the Pistachio lassi was pretty good but it... More

I’ve patronised Masala Zone for years, mostly the Camden one. I like that they're comfortable and easy going with consistently lovely food. It's great to be able to rely on an old friend of a place and yet enjoy visits as if the place was somehow fresh and new. I can't fault that at all. The Soho branch on this... More

I went here with a friend two weeks ago after being in desparate need of a good Indian curry and I was certainly not disappointed. We had a Thali, which consisted of several small dishes of vegetables and a curry, I opted for the prawn curry and was not disappointed, each dish bursted with flavour and spice. We had a... More

I went here for a friends birthday meal and we were very pleased with all of the food we got, the portions were generous and it was good for sharing. I'll definitely be going back at some point

A family trip to London ended in a very disappointing meal. We were drawn in by the candle-lit windows, soft lighting and nice [if quite busy] ambience. My son ordered a Thali[ a range of very small dishes, which was below average. His popadums were stale- [recycled?]and he was disappointed by his lamb, cheap meat and unsubtle seasoning. I ordered the... More

If you are braving the wilds of oxford street on a weekend before christmas this is a great Modern Indian restaurant to take respite. Fanily of four eat for gbp75. Food is delicious. Butter chicken, chicken tikka combo and grilled prawns with veg of the day. Nice and relaxed and the staff are great and full of recommendations. They are... More

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
