This grand room forms part of this Historic hotel and truthfully is the best thing about it. The restaurant was not particularly busy but the service for food ,drinks was at best at a snails pace, fortunately we were not in a rush. When the...More

The quality of this review is inspired by the quality of my experience ... I squarely rate this is ok ... service was politely officious, verging on the pedantic. The choice of starters was limited by range (breadth not number) though not by the extent...More

Has anyone taken children here - is it appropriate? There is no child policy on their website and no children's menu

I'm not sure, I didn't see any children there and I don't think they cater for children specifically. Personally I think the atmosphere is quite formal so not particularly children friendly but it's only an opinion.

Smart day wear, suits not required for men, but dark jeans and shirt is a good benchmark. Ladies are dressed to a similar standard

Great British dining is executed perfectly at Marcus Wareing's The Gilbert Scott with a menu featuring British produce cooked to perfection. The beautifully grand Gilbert Scott bar presents fine bespoke cocktails and an imaginative wine list. There is a private dining room for large parties and the Kitchen Table is perfect for an extravagant meal, close to the lively hub of the kitchen.
