This place specialises in one thing and they do it well. Wonderful steak with their signature sauce along with frites. Starter is a greens and walnut salad. Dessert is their signature cake which is delicious but very rich. You will leave the place stuffed!! Regards Omar

One of my favourite places to eat in the City. Perfect for business meetings (as long as your fellow diners like steak) as they do one thing on the menu and do it very well. You pay £24 a head at lunchtime and get a leafy salad starter sprinkled with walnuts and finished with a tasty dressing, then thinly cut... More

My second visit here and it still delivered. Melt in your mouth steak to die for and a wonderful Bordeaux. Thank god I live 50 miles away otherwise I'd eat here all the time!

For those who have never been in one of these Relais de Venise, be aware that there is no menu apart for desserts. Any meat lover will like it for sure and the special sauce is great . Recommended dessert: profiteroles. Without taking wine, it is very good value.

What a lovely traditional / old fashioned restaurant. Very busy, tables are rather crammed in so not much space between tables. However, a simple menu of steak and fries is well presented and very tasty.

Good but...no choice of meat. not possible to get medium rare cooking...we had to order 2 times the bottle of water and we had to ask for glasses when we finaly get water... we didn't appreciate the wine (relais de venise) I think something need to be improved. I'm certain I'll not come back.

Never go wrong with Entrecote as long as you get there early enough to find a table especially when you are 7!

No menu, walnut salad, good steak and fries and a bottle of hose red. Perfect lunch!! Make sure you get there early or you join a daily queue, but still worth the wait.

Very simple concept - steak frites, but done superbly well and with excellent service - point to note - you cannot book, and they will not seat a table until the entire party is there, and it is often full by 1, so if you want to sit a party of more than two then make sure they are all... More

If you only do one thing, then you have to do it well - and this place does a good job of a steak and chips. There is no choice here, except how well done you want your steak. There is however a desert menu, with more than one options - and all pretty good! Perhaps not the place for... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
