Part of the picturehouse group, this more local independent cinema offers an alternative cinema experience. Tailored to adults, the place screens a combination of blockbuster and alternative films. The sears are very comfortable and you can enjoy a glass of wine while you watch the film- the overall experience is so much more enjoyable. I recommend arriving early and having... More

Recently I went to see Moonlight at the Ritzy. Thje final scene of tyhe film is tender and moving, but even before the credits started rolling, the auditorium lights were slammed up., thus ruining the atmosphertre. Anybody who wanted to leave before the credits finished would be able to see perfectly well by the side lights. I spoke to the... More

It's my local. so would almost be rude not to go. Best deals I think come with membership, which although lapsed now I had for 3/4 years. It gets you free reduced tickets, discount on refreshments at all Picturehouse screenings and a few other places to boot. I've been going to this cinema since college, 3 decades (ahem - don't... Visit the Ritzy regularly to go to the cinema. Much nicer experience than your Vue/Odeon etc, and the cost isn't much different. I have a membership which reduces the cost and gives you discount at a range of places. Tried out the cafe downstairs for brunch the other week and only good things to say about it. Portions are good,... More

I've made reference before that London is a unique place. People spend money. The Ritzy is in a good location and I took my teenage daughter during half term. In total spent £17 for two tickets. It's overpriced as are practically most cinemas. Cannot get into selected theatre in time due to cleaning in progress. Either don't sell popcorn or... More

I live in Brixton, so went to the Ritzy for a birthday lunch with my sister. We sat outside because the weather was quite pleasant, however the Pizza's we had were completely tasteless, like eating cardboard. We did complain and were offered a free dessert, a very ordinary chocolate cake type concoction. Very disappointing.

Love this cinema, has a cool independent vibe even though it's a chain. Staff are always friendly and educated about the films they have. Also great popcorn! The bar is great too.

The Ritzy is something of a Brixton institution, and has been going in one form or another for over a century now. It's a lovely cinema showing a mixture of arthouse, independent films as well as more mainstream offerings. It has a restaurant/bar downstairs with a view out over Windrush Square, as well as a bar upstairs which runs various... More

Right near Brixton Village and street market, we went for a movie to watch Dr. Strange after having yummy lunch at The Joint and Mama Lan. Love the concession food and snack variety here and ice cream cup choices were awesome. Cinema was clean and comfortable. Definitely recommend to come with family and friends.
