New Year's Day in London...grey, rainy and cold. Sunday roast at Devonshire Arms made it all better! Roasted chicken or pork were offered and both were wonderful! Crispy roasted potatoes, perfectly cooked root veggies, seriously good Yorkshire puddings and sinfully lush gravy! Well done!

So the downside is that you need to time a visit to the Devonshire Arms carefully, as in avoid arriving at 8pm and expecting to get a table inside to eat - as that's just not going to happen. You'd be better off reserving a table, of arriving at 7pm sharp (that's not 7.15) or even leaving it until after... More

Drove past on way to hotel looked a nice cozy pub. Went back in evening was lovely, staff very friendly. Food was good and not too expensive

The night started badly, served by a lady behind the bar who found it hard to smile, and then poured us some very poor pints ! The Guinness was warm and tasted bitter and strange , so I took it back and she exchanged it for a nice cold bottle of lager instead. And the German beer was also warm... More

This is a great local pub in the beautiful area of Kensington, London. As a family we went there on a Sunday evening, the bar area was full but we managed to get a table in the restaurant, very quirky layout with nice décor, lots of locals which is a good sign, it was like friends home for Christmas feel.... We were looking for something simple after a long day of touristing London. The pub was warm and there were a fair amount of people around. It took us a while to figure out that we had to order at the bar for table delivery. Overall a decent pub experience with ok food, beer, and figuring out the process.

Went with a group of friends for Christmas lunch. First the pro's Claire was a really nice waitress. Now the con's; We booked our meals in advance but what we got wasn't as promised. Firstly the cold water on the tables was warm water in hot craves that had probably just come out of the dishwasher. The goats cheese starter... More

Magic little joint in the heart of kensington. We showed up half wrecked with jetlag and Claire the supervisor was really good to us helping us with wine selection, attractions around town, wifi and generally being awesome, would recommend for her kind and attentive service by itself. Foods great if you want non wankery honest pub food. Highly recommend the... More

Although not haute cuisine, a fair-priced pub with rather delicious home-made pies. We were pretty desperate and hungry and found this pub around the corner from our hotel. A life saver!

Description
South Kensington's cosiest pub. Just a stones throw from the boutique-lined streets of South Kensington, The Devonshire Arms has rustic character and vintage style in equal measure. Step inside to discover an unsurpassable range of speciality drinks, all served with a dash of idiosyncratic charm and an eclectically furnished interior that exudes a subtle air of stately-home grandeur, an apt setting for sipping on a crisp New Zealand Pinot G or treating yourself to one of our home-cooked Sunday roasts. The pub garden has ample tables that catch the sun with heating and jumbo umbrellas for when the British weather catches you off guard!

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
