The food was excellent and the price was the icing on the cake. It was the best meal we, as a family, had in the 5 days spent in London, and we ate out for lunch and dinner at places recommended, which were very disappointing, and overpriced.

You don't go to Le Chamarel for fine dining or ambiance. There is quite a good range on the menu. Some is pre prepared and some is freshly made. Tonight I had one of my favourites, Bol renversė. It was fine and generous and we also had a fresh tomato salad. Not the cheapest but not an arm and a... More

The food was very nice and we had a warm welcome. As starter we tasted the gateau arouille as we say in creole.

Place doesn’t have much ambience. Serves were small, for the price. A dish supposed to be octopus was largely bulked up with onion. About half a bowlful. I guess they waved an octopus leg over it. A drink with green noodles in it was very tasty and refreshing. I think from the combination of flavours and smells, Mauritian food *might*... More

I have been a diner at Le Chamarel since 2014, and I must confess to initial hesitation on arrival. I called Mauritius home for many years, and just as the food in many "Indian" restaurants in the UK bears scant resemblance to the real thing, so it is with Mauritian food. However, from my very first visit until the latest... More

As a Mauritian, it's hard for me to rate Mauritian cuisine but I must say how heaven Le Chamarel's food is! Outrageously good. As am a big eater, I have no specific preference, I just love all the dishes! Would keep on going there :)
