Once again I visited this wonderful restaurant and as usual, the food was authentic and delicious. Also, the service was friendly as always. A special mention to Jeff (pictured below) who takes customer service to a different level! Recommended dishes - Seafood Dim Sum, Filleted Dover Sole in Two Ways, King Prawns in Mango & Passion Fruit Sauce, Wagyu Beef... More

The test of a Chinese restaurant is managing a big crowd at Sunday lunch when everyone piles in for a big family dim sum. Especially in the colder months. Bright Courtyard definitely passed the test, being able to seat us quickly despite being packed. It was good to see the staff being efficient and courteous despite the huge crowd and... More

Had'nt been for a few years but was passing so came for an early dinner. Busy even at at 6.30pm. Still exceptional Shanghai food, no ipad ordering any more and even better service from several very friendly and helpful staff, many of whom are Chinese locals. I cannot understand comments about poor service, always top quality when we are here.... More

I have reviewed this restaurant sometime back. I have eaten here a number of times now and the food has always been great. However, this time around we were celebrating the 21st birthday of our friend's daughter. When it was time for desserts our orders were taken and then a bit later told that they had run out of bananas... More

Extremely poor service and poor food for a Chinese restaurant. Will not go again. We have to wait long time for menu, menu only provided for two persons despite six of us. Despite the request, we were only provided two more. We have to wait long time for this. We have to kept asking for waiter/waitress. Food were literally dumped... More

This is a lovely restaurant with good food if not always authentic but let down by surly staff that don't understand English which was frustrating. We would however go back again due to the ambiance and quality of the food. Not cheap but far superior to the Royal China opposite.

I go to Bright courtyard about every week because the quality of the food is unbeatable if you are Chinese or really know things about Chinese food. This is what a high quality Chinese restaurant should be in China and it is frequently visited by Chinese billionaires who come to London for businesses. The cuisine covers Shanghai, Sichuan, Huaiyang and... More

Went at lunch time found set menu too restrictive so we chose our dishes. The asparagus dish was very nice plus the noodles and tofu were very tasty with the right amount of sauce and chilli. The atmosphere was good and busy but the waiters sometimes can be hard to find if serving a lot of tables. Food is expensive... More

A group of my friends & I are regulars in London & enjoy many of the nice restaurants. We wanted to try a decent Chinese in London & someone recommended Bright Courtyard. We were given a nice table and then handed 2 ipads for 10 people. Whilst we all love our gadgets to be handed an ipad, with its ridiculous... More

This restaurant was chosen by our Chinese hosts and was very good. Lots of different authentic dishes, many with chillies! Friendly staff who looked after us with a smile.

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
