I have been here a few times now. Recently the prices have increased to that of a mid range restaurant while it is not. The food is not bad. However, what irks me most is the fact that they don't provide you with a proper receipt or accept card payments, which has tax avoidance written all over it. Good food,... More

The restaurant is small, crowded and dated, looks cheap. The truth is it is cheaper then other options, but not a lot. The service is bad, waiters are not polite, at the end you do not even get a real bill, it is a hand written paper. On the positive side the food comes fast. The food is good, very... More

This has always been a 'go to' place for me at lunchtimes. I've been eating here for over 10 years. It's especially good if you have a group of friends and a strict lunch hour. You can get in, choose, eat and leave within an hour and not break the bank (usually around a tenner a head). Sometimes you can... More

Went in and asked for the pork chop noodles on the menu in the window outside but they don't do it anymore. The waitress was quite abrupt but not in an unpleasant way. I had the chicken noodles, a bak choy with garlic and sale and pepper squid. The chicken came is fish and chip type batter which I thought... More

Real authentic Malaysian food is a rarity in London, and this place is the real deal! The Nasi Goreng and salt/pepper squid was cooked to perfection, and felt like being back in KL on my travels. The staff are very welcoming, and the prices are extremely reasonable for the quality.... highly recommend.

This place I have been video visit for while and found one best Laksa around for very responsible price, best time to visit is in evening where is less crowded and to avoid disappointment, this place gets madly busy during lunchtime, make your way as earlier as you can to skip the queue.

I pop in here en-route to gigs at the Slaughtered Lamb pub in Great Sutton Street nearby. Not that the food isnt great in the pub, but EC1 is perfect for something wholesome, tasty, filling - and very cheap. I nearly always have the Ho Fun noodles with chicken, absolutely delicious! Highly recommend.

Great little noodlehouse, tucked away on a side street, which at the time of writing (late Jan 2016) is somewhat obscured by scaffolding. Well worth seeking out, this small and unpretentious Malaysian-Chinese restaurant dishes out tasty and generous plates of noodles at a very reasonable price. Service is efficient, they'll give you tap water free of charge if you ask... More

I've been there at a lunch break and I definetively will be back to have the chance to try the different plates not being such in a hurry! Good service and the prices are fair.

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighbourhood Profile
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
