The food here is actually quite good, the decor fairly average and not a million miles from what it was previously (as the Markham Inn). The service is standard for Chelsea and the staff seem nice enough. However, what passes for a wine list is...More

I loved the Markham Inn and thought it was pretty close to The Enterprise.........our favourite pub in the area. The food was very good, flavoursome, good quality ingredients, well executed. But the wine kist us silly. A glass if white wine was £10.50! The house...More

Just to say that Markham Inn has now become Red House. Trip Advisor's reviews for Red House relate to The Markham Inn because of the dates. Rather dreary new décor. Why did they bother when it was only a couple of years old and seemed...More

We went here as a party of six for Valentines Day. So it was a set menu with a choice of three or four things for each course. Most of us opted for the rib of beef for two. It was excellent. One of the...More

I normally stay locally at My Hotel, and this used to be a tapas restaurant - didnt last too long. Now its turned into a gastro pub, with a small bar to the right and a large well decorated restaurant taking over 2/3rds of the...More

I have read other reviews and am not sure if it's the same place my daughter and I went to on Saturday - its our second visit and I think of myself as fussy. Their reviews bear no resemblance to our experience at all. We...More

Yesterday we had cocktails here before having dinner at Tom Aikens down the street. The barkeeper was very friendly and let us taste a soda that we did not know before we ordered a cocktail that contained that. Very nice! Both of our cocktails were...More

Great location, food has gotten better, staff really try, but management has really gone down hill. Very disappointing experience.

Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's
upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops,
eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at
its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely
unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this
showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price
tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down
pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal

Established in 1863, The Markham Inn became a place where explorers and travelers, such as Sir Clements Robert Markham, Secretary of The Royal Geographic Society, would congregate to exchange stories and make plans. Chelsea’s less intrepid visitors won’t need a compass to find their way – The Markham is centrally located on Chelsea Green. The Markham offers an all-day, European menu with a special focus on lovingly prepared, seasonal and British sourced food.
