Tucked away in the depths of Farringdon, this place has a nice 'feel'. The main dining area is divided into 'booths' with bench seats - a bit hard on the bum, despite the cushions. I had lunch here with a couple of friends and enjoyed...More

First of all the 9/10 review in the paper recently was very fair. The food here really is excellent and very unpretentious. In particular the mince toast snacks were fantastic, some of the tastiest beef I have ever eaten. The terrine is also a good...More

They recently had a top review in the Guardian newspaper so thought we should give it a try. Lovely old restaurant, sympathetically restored in recent years I believe? The bench seating is a little uncomfortable but not a huge problem. If you are on the...More

We went for lunch prompted by Marina O'Loughlin's review at the Guardian before she moves to the Times. Everything was perfect - the pork belly starter with roast carrot and walnuts (purée?) managed somehow to be light but delicious and indulgent, perhaps because the portion...More

How to write a review and not sound like a food critic or a well hackneyed one at that might prove difficult when discussing our dining experience a the Quality Chop house. The food we all agreed was average at best and really nothing special....More

Really very good. Good menu, with good advice from the waiter. Excellent on service. The food was great. The wine was very expensive for what seemed pretty average/good stuff. We had 6 friends packed tightly into a small table setup, slightly frustrating. Go with friends...More

Me and my girlfriend went for lunch on a tuesday and were stunned by the great food. We had mozzarella with preserved lemon and elderberry capers, middle white pork terrine for starters. The mozzarella was the highlight, but the terrine really needed some more bread...More

We had an excellent meal, food very good, wine and service great, and atmospheric. My main of halibut liver and a crab sauce was memorable. The restaurant is excellent but here are three thing which spoilt it for me, hence very good not excellent mark....More

Superb service and excellent food, attention to detail of the service was wonderful from the sparkling and still water placed on the table as we sat down - halfway through the meal a waiter who hadn't actually been serving us refilled is correctly from the...More

Description
The Quality Chop House has a long history as a provider of hospitality. Once a working men’s ‘eating house’ it offered nourishment and respite for the weary. It is in this spirit that we’d like to welcome you back through our doors. We are now offering three different dining experiences in surroundings reflecting the beauty and history of The Quality Chop House. The first is our Dining Room, For lunch the menu is simple, small and set. For dinner, we want to feed you. Give us your coat, pull up a pew (quite literally) and we’ll take care of the rest. We’ll be offering a 5 course set menu, a progressive feast of our favourite things. You can pick the bottle (but we’ll have some magnums open to pour you a glass while deciding). Our Wine bar & Shop is open all day for on- and off-premises enjoyment. Our wines are fine but our prices are fair. A hand-picked selection from some serious cellars without the serious price tag. And we’ll have charcuterie, cheese and smaller plates on hand too. For tastings, feastings and meetings we offer our Upstairs - A private room for up to 10 people.
