The food is ok , I am not gonna say it's bad but a way too overpriced for what you get! Had a few tapas to share, one main and the cheapest red wine jar.....47 pounds each person!!! This to me is a rip off......More

I went here two nights in a row, it was that good. Service was good, my waiter both nights was Jak and he did a great job even with a full restaurant. I am looking forward to my next visit to London, as I hear...More

Lovely comfortable airy restaurant. High quality tapas and mains. Everything can be shared. Slightly limited menu. Extensive wine list. Puddings much better than the normal Spanish fare. Strong coffee. Much enjoyed

This place has been on my list for a while and it was worth persisting with my plans. It's a little further out of the city than one ordinarily might venture but it's a lovely aspect and makes for a pleasant round trip walking over...More

Busy and buzzing restaurant, even on a Monday night, everything was good just felt the service was a little unrefined. Granted it's Tapas but still if you put items on a dish that aren't described on the menu please say what they are when putting...More

My husband booked for my birthday as I had always wanted to try Pizarro. There was a friendly welcome and we were seated and given menus. The wine list was presented and I asked the waiter if he could recommend anything which had been aged...More

Went on a hot Sunday lunch and it was quiet (Wimbledon finals day). 5 of us including a child easily accommodated. We shared starters tapas style over some excellent find and cava. The raw mackerel was my favourite. For a main I had 100% acorn...More

José and his dedicated team ensure that only the highest quality food makes the 'pass' and this is some of the best food I have tasted. The service is only surpassed by the range and calibre of the menu and ingredients. Fine dining at it's...More

At the bottom of Bermondsey Street, but well worth the walk. Wonderful REAL Spanish food with friendly service and great atmosphere. They truly know what they are doing here, succulent lamb, freshly cooked fish and vegetables, iberico ham to die for. What a great evening...More

Absolute quality.. everything about this restaurant is quality... the sister bistro down the road is great fun, buzzing, but this place... quality... ambience sublime, you have to have the ham... acorn fed, on two acres.. the best you will taste... almonds great, but very expensive...More

Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard,
the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond
any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some
time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved
browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street,
foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old
foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks
of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest

The full-sized restaurant is one block away from my sherry and tapas bar, José, on Bermondsey Street. At the front there is a bar, offering a great selection of sherries and Spanish wines, with a spotlight on cavas, Spanish style gin tónicas and Spanish vermút. Here, at the window seats overlooking the lovely church of St Mary Magdalen or at the long communal table or at the bar itself, you can have a drink and graze on snacks, cheese, cold cuts and special tapas all day long. At the rear is more formal restaurant seating - tables for 2 and 4, banquettes for 4-5, a large communal table for 8-10 people and a private dining room for 8-10 people. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner in the evening all day from Monday until Sunday. When the restaurant area is open, the restaurant food menu is available in both the restaurant and the bar. We offer a selection of small and more substantial dishes that can be served as starters and mains or as tapas for sharing. As usual, I want to bring you delicious food with bright new flavours - the season's best on a plate. We take reservations for lunch and dinner in the restaurant and private dining tables, but hold the bar seating back for walk-ins.
