Good pub food. Nice interior. Free wifi. Friendly staff and seemed like friendly clientele. If in the area a perfectly reasonable option.

We had been at a few good Nicholson's pubs and that was why we chose this for an afternoon meal. The dining room upstairs was closed (don't know why) so we asked if we could order food in the pub - that was okay. But the food was the worst I have ever eaten! I ordered a "hunters chicken" and... in huge portions. If that is what you're looking for The Marquis is a option. There is the pub down stairs and a small restaurant upstairs. I visited the pub once with my daughter of 12 for lunch and despite not crowded at all we were not allowed to have lunch but sent to the restaurant. We left. This time... More

This is a nice pub. There is a good selection of real ales which are kept well and at a reasonable price for the area (even cheaper with the Nicholson's app). Music is at a nice volume. Not loud enough to disturb conversations but loud enough to listen to if that is what you want. The staff are extremely friendly... More

We visited the Marquis of Granby while staying in Westminster. It's a traditional pub with a great selection of beers. The staff are brilliant and helped me out with some advice on which of the beers to try. The food is excellent, I had one of there speciality pies which was delicious. It gets quite busy after 5pm when the... More

My husband and I visited this pub as we were staying close by. We visited lunchtime and evening and both times were great. The food we had was lovely and there was a nice selection of beers and wines. There was a great buzzy atmosphere in there especially in the evening and the staff were all friendly and helpful. We... Although part of the Nicholson Group, it is very special frequented historically by members of parliament and it has a Lobby Bell which rings to call MP's back for a vote. They had 7 real beers and a great selection of pies.

Ate here on our third and final night in London and this was the best value dinner which we had in this expensive city. The food was typical pub fare. We had chicken served with proper chips as opposed to the thin tasteless fries we were given in other establishments. The food was hot and tasty and service was prompt.... More

The selection of drinks, friendliness of service, and tastiness of food here is all quite sufficient. It's just ... this restaurant does not offer anything special to write home about. So, expect not to be disappointed. Also expect not to really be impressed. Good pies, friendly people, cozy atmosphere.

Staying in Westminster

Neighbourhood Profile
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
