Great food, very good service even though it was very busy. Good value for money too! Provided plates etc for a birthday cake that we took in ourselves .

Perfect Sunday roast. Attentive staff who deliver excellent service. I went with the pulled pork while others at my table had the chicken and it was all amazing. I will definitely be back.

It was a wet Tuesday evening while visiting friends nearby that we decided, on a whim, the check out the Pig & Butcher. Great name that sums up the menu nicely. We were seated without a reservation. The beer menu was varied and interesting while...More

Hands down my favorite pub for sunday roast. I come here regularly and I'm never disappointed. The beef and chicken roast are very good. They also have ceasar's!

Had a very enjoyable evening here, the food is good, and large servings, with a huge selection of ales and a small but reasonable wine selection. The veal shoulder was fantastic- tender and succulent. The wait staff were all good, and very efficient

With a traditional pub interior, The Pig and Butcher is a popular place to be with an epic Sunday lunch. The portion sizes are well worth the wait and the craft beer and wine selection is expansive. Book a table or arrive early otherwise you'll...More

Late Sat lunch and it was still packed with folk from Private Eye's "It's Grim Up North London" cartoon strip. Like every Islington stereotype had been herded into one space. As irritating as every other type when they've had a few. Bloody Marys were very...More

I like decent pubs and traditional stinky ones... But this pub is something else. You can go in just beers, they have a ton of great ones, WildCard IPAs, Belgian strong stuff and proper ales... Or stay for some really great food. That's what we...More

We visited the pig and the butcher for the first time yesterday. And much to our enjoyment, everything was beyond our expectations. They have steaks, grills, roasts, everything British. All of the menu looks mouthwatering and our dishes were scrumptious. We will definitely come back.

Hi It is a while since I have been there but I do remember there being roast artichoke being on the menu. Maybe best to call as I do know that the menu is slightly different each day.

The Pig and Butcher occupies a handsome pub built in the mid 1800's on what was fields used by farmers to rest and feed their livestock before being sent to Smithfield's Meat Market. We have brought the pub back to it's roots and receive carcasses straight from the farm and butcher them on site. We specialise in rare breeds such as White Park cattle, Iron Age pigs and Hebridean lamb while our friend Seb at Chart Farm supplies our game - if you haven't tried his venison you haven't lived! In summer we grill over coal and wood on our specially built Robata grill. In winter we brine, cure, smoke and braise.Vegetables come from Kent and are as good and as fresh as anything you'll find in this country. Our fish is supplied by Rupert on the south coast. He calls us in the morning and tells us what the day boats have caught and what he has. This is one of the reasons our menu changes so much - we literally don't know what fish we'll be serving until we have spoken with Rupert! We take our inspiration from farmhouse tables across Europe. Food is served simply and with little fuss! Share lots of small plates or a single big plate. We like the idea of bringing conversation back to the dining table and what better way to do it than sharing/stealing food? Think of food as Granny used to make…
