Exploring Pimlico over the Easter weekend, my wife told me about this fabulous bakery she had found. She was right: very relaxed vibe, with a mouth watering selection of breads. We ended up having breakfast there twice: one time I opted for a simple scrambled eggs on dark French sourdough, and the results were glorious, cooked to yellowy perfection. And... More

Our coffee drinkers were very happy, the bread was divine, and there were so many other options, from fun egg dishes to tasty salads in a cup such as the one I ate both mornings -- with goat cheese, hazelnuts, grains, greens,... As a bonus the hotel next door offered free breakfast at Gails. The choice was either continental or hot. I tried both, and they were equally enjoyable. Very plentiful servings.

This time, all I wanted was a pot of tea and a couple of croissants to bridge a time gap between two theatre performances. Service was great - pleasant, friendly and efficient. Lovely tea, a great plain croissant and an almond one.The lot came to £7. 70 which was great value in this part of London. Keep it up, Gail's... More

Pros: the salmon croissant dish was nice, clean restaurant, ambience calm and relaxed, prices reasonable. Cons: not many items to choose from. Will definitely visit again.

Popped in here before going to London Bride Couture for wedding dress fitting - what a find - lovely home baked goods, relaxed atmosphere, fantastic coffee, clean tidy and staff friendly and helpful. Only down side is that I don't live anywhere close so can't make it a regular visit. All home cooked breads. pastries to buy looked amazing.

This is truly a fantastic bakery! There are quite a few around London, and it's a must go for anyone. Everything that I've had is absolutely delicious! In the past (I don't know if they still have these) I had lamb and pine nut sausage rolls which were absolutely delicious. I've haven't tried much there, but I can confidently assume... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
