Was a friend's birthday party in the basement. An otherwise happy evening was marred by the unhappy bar staff who were clearly not enjoying their work. And when I went to close the door, which had been left open and cold air was blowing in, one of them (who was in the middle of serving other customers) came over and... More

Me and a friend popped into this pub looking for a spot to eat, after noticing most other venues it the vicinity were packed; this place however was virtually empty, and now I know why. The food on the menu is tad pricey for pub grub, me and my friend opted for the and couple of sandwiches meals coming in... More

I visited this pub at the end of a successful contract and had a great evening there. The range of beers is good. I should add that I had too good a time and mislaid my phone. I am therefore grateful to the manageress who found my phone and kept it safe for me to collect.

I was a student in Bloomsbury for 5 years many many years ago. For old time sake decided to drop into this bar - where I spent many fine memorable hours. Frankly I can't even remember what it was called back then. But I do remember many serious and not so serious conversations I had here. Where many important and... More

It was the Portugal-Poland match day, advertised outside the pub. I was there for work and wanted to watch my team play. The match started at 8pm - but at 7.55 the only tv in the pub was playing early tennis matches at wimbledon. I asked the young bar tender if they could change the tv channel to the game... More

I've been here twice for functions downstairs, both times the service at the bar has been lovely. I've read some awful reviews on the food service, and since not so many of us were eating, it's difficult to comment (and also since the event was on a Sunday afternoon, which I assume is a lot faster than other times). It's... More

There is some nice decor inside this pub but the food and drinks are all pretty average. The nachos have been melted in a way that you can't pick on up without using a fork to break them apart which is tricky. The wine choices are fairly average and it does get pretty crowded later on. However, the staff are... More

The staff at The College Arms and the atmosphere make this a great pub in an ideal location. We booked their downstairs room for a party and were made to feel very welcome. The staff were very friendly and made our evening a huge success. Lovely food, excellent wine and very reasonable prices for this central London venue.

We went to the pub for lunch. We were the first ones there and the first lunch order - nachos, squid, and a goat's cheese and beetroot salad. The squid and nachos arrived together very quickly. The squid was very nice. The nachos were done slightly oddly with the salsa, guacamole and sour cream just dumped on separately. No grated... More

Although the place can get crowded, they have a good selection of beers and I come here every now and again. A comfortable pub, there is also a very nice Greek cafe across the road

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
