Lovely location right by the canal. The staff were really nice and attentive, the food was excellent and reasonably priced. Would return.

Great spot right on the canal so have stopped here nearly every time I have cruised or cycled past. Food has always been nice, the beers are well kept and the staff have always been friendly. Seen lots of Yummie Mummies and Daddies in here...More

They got curly fries, some good brews on tap, bottle & can, but don't seem to know what a 'sour' is. Bartender told me that usually means they've gone bad. Yikes! Let's build up that knowledge base on what you're serving. Nice spot though on...More

Great location to sit and have a pint when walking the canal. We were going from Hertford to Limehouse and sat on the steps with a beer and some pork scratchings.

Hi David, So lovely to hear you had a wonderful time with us! Our sausage rolls are the best, if we do say so ourselves. Hope to see you again soon for a refuel. Hollie, Sales and marketing Coordinator

Description
The Princess of Wales has been given some TLC and is now open once again — a proper good pub for the good people of Clapton.

The new-look Princess of Wales combines the best of a traditional London pub with everything you’d expect from a first-rate bar or restaurant. British classics like fish & chips, seasonal pies and juicy burgers will always feature on our menus but you’ll also spot innovative, home-grown recipes that feature the best of our regional produce. On our bar, cask ales take pride of place but we’ve also made room for some top-notch craft beers. Our wines, gins, vodkas and rums follow a similar pattern: firm favourites mixed in with exciting, new flavours.

Come by soon, get yourself a glass of something cold, sit by the River Lea and thank your lucky stars for unearthing the wonder that is the Princess of Wales.
