I have visited the Princess of Wales pub three times in the past month – the last visit 12 November with 8 members of a walking Group doing part of the Lea Valley Walk to the Olympic Park. The pub is perfectly situated right on the riverbank ; on each visit but particularly the Group visit I was delighted with... More

Went in for a Sunday roast dinner and was impressed by the excellent and quick service. Super friendly staff, lovely location, cozy interior (especially the lit fireplace!) and a few cool boardgames to stay entertained with. All I needed for a rainy Sunday afternoon. We've enjoyed the food and drinks and would definitely come back for more!

Had a great meal here- I went for the sea bass and it was fantastic. It's really cosy sitting by the fire. The staff went out of the way to help with our requests

Really lovely staff, but enough of them. Had to wait for the food to arrive for ages plus very overpriced for the quality and quantity too. It's a shame because the place itself it's lovely.

Great pub by the river lea. Just came back from Sunday lunch with my family and friends and most of us had the vegetarian wellington, lamb leg and beef striploin and it was all very tasty, well presented with nice roasted veg and super large Yorkshire pud. Bar staff was quick and very friendly. Nice selection of local ales too.

Stopped in for a roast and just as we were settling in the table was booked from underneath us, not giving us enough time to enjoy the food. So we left. Not such a bad thing as I'm not a massive fan of Young's.

Hi Frank, I'm sorry you didn't have a great time with us on Sunday. I will look into this as this isn't how we would like to operate. If you could pop an email over to princessofwalesevents@gronimo-inns.co.uk with more details of your visit, time, where about in the pub, who served you etc. that would be great. Thanks, Hollie More

Amazing place for food and drinks, pub quiz is a must and the staff are brilliant! Especially the female supervisor who has been there a while now, absolute credit to the place.

Went in for Sunday roast with a few friends. Service was pretty quick, but the food is vile. My wife had the roast beef: half an inch thick and chewy with gristle: 17 quid, thank you very much. My fish and chips: 13 quid - the chips were rubbish (they used to be triple cooked here, but that's gone for... More

Really impressed by this pub, nice decor, plenty of tables outside overlooking the Lea (or Lee) Navigation; the canalised stretch of the River Lea a major tributary of the Thames...good beers, wines & lovely food. Worth a visit.

Description
The Princess of Wales is a discreetly stylish gastronomic wonderland of a pub. With a focus on good quality food and local craft beer and some wonderful spaces to enjoy them in. The PoW is the ideal place to gather your gang together to celebrate an engagement, a birthday or a Friday! If you haven't prepared then a trip to the bar might take you longer than you think - with such a mouth-watering range of continental lagers, British ales, craft beers and premium spirits it gets hard to choose sometimes! That's before you even start on a wine list which is as elegant as it is comprehensive but never fear, our expert staff can always help if you find yourself enraptured by choice...
