Our first time here and we went on a friend's recommendation. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive and put up with our dithering over food choices. Once we'd decided, it came quickly and was really good: large portions of chicken salad, fish & chips and pork belly, washed down with a nice house bottle of Shiraz. Followed by profiteroles to... I've posted a review of this bar/restaurant before but felt it was time to post another positive review as I continue to be impressed with this branch of Browns. Visited today with sister and daughter as a pre-birthday lunch for daughter. Service was impeccable and I'd like to mention our waitress Fede. Attentive without being at all intrusive, and made... I have been coming back to this restaurant since it opened. Decided to come for an early bird. Missed our slot. Upon arrival the head of house who had his back turned to the desk continued to chat to two men. He did not know if we had a reservation or not because he did not attend to us upon... More

Whenever we visit the Museum of London Docklands, we take the opportunity of eating at Browns just 2 minutes away. The reassurance of top quality service, high quality food and a menu that never fails. Our waiter Sandor was excellent and it was a faultless 65 minutes for drinks, lunch and some extra special sweets.

Located on the lovely Dockside - food good (we had bar snacks) 3 for £12.95 - enough for 2 to share and tasty. Plenty of seats outside with parasols and heaters. Inside very relaxed but stylish. Lovely place to go for you don't want to be squashed and surrounded by drunken kids but also don't want to pay stupid prices... More

We decided to give this place second chance mainly because we haven't booked anything for Valentine's day and seen some empty tables inside on our walk from ice rink. The starter and main were underwhelming and dessert inedible. We had to ask for straws in our cocktails and for steak knife, my steak was undercooked and my boyfriends lamb overcooked.... More

I had my birthday meal booked here, although most of my friends turned up an hour late, the waiter was very polite and helped us with drinks. Food was very nice, I had a steak fillet with peppercorn sauce (peppercorn sauce had a kick to it- I personally loved it) I got coupon for a free prosecco for signing up... More

We booked a table for 5 and we brought a birthday which the staff were happy to accommodate and brought out with candles etc making it a special occasion. Service was good and efficient and food flowed without long waits or too fast. The food was usual browns high standards, three of us had very nice Thai fish cakes -... More

Pleasant bistro type restaurant. Friendly staff. We had afternoon tea. Only one minus, we actually had to ask for the tea 4 mins after the cake stand had been served. It was quiet so not quite sure what happened! Good value.

Description
West India Quay is a thriving part of London in the heart of the Docklands.

The Browns building was once a sugar warehouse, built in the early 19th century by Napoleonic prisoners of war. It has a truly distinctive atmosphere and a lovely external seating area overlooking the dock.

The site is spread over two floors with a large front external terrace and lower ground floor bar garden.

Come and enjoy our innovative take on classic dishes, or join us for one of our legendary cocktails in the heart of the Docklands.
