Can't say I was blown away particularly because of the prices. Ok its W1 but still...the portion of Tabbouleh was tiny, the first basket of bread was dry like Scandinavian flatbread and the waitress forgot one of the dishes but it altogether tasted nice and fresh. The Fairuz mixed grill for 2 was more generous and the chicken particularly finger-licking... More

We got there by chance since we were looking for a Lebanese Restaurant in the area. The restaurant is not beautiful but has a character, ok service and the food was average as well. The hummus was delicious ...didnt like the baklavas (a bit dry and cut in a tiny caramel size portions, no honey). In general with so many... More

Tucked down Blandford Street, just opposite where Marylebone Lane joins Marylebone High Street, sits Fairuz, a small, friendly Lebanese restaurant. We opted for the set menu, which was a mixed bag; the starters were delicious and filling. The main meat course was however a little disappointing and much less flavourful and authentic than the first course. For a light meal,... More

LOVE this place. Simply one of the best Lebanese places in ALL of London. YUUUUUMMM!!! Not necessarily the cheapest, or the friendliest of service, but oh sooooooooooooo good!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Staff were welcoming and accommodating - seated me to a table right away as I waited for my friends. Menu is not extensive which is a good sign as they focus on a select number of specialty dishes. Food portions were fairly large but I didn't feel the food was excellent but was good quality. The restaurant is also slightly... More

I have eaten here a few times (we used to live nearby), and enjoy it every time we come back. They are welcoming, great with the kids, and flexible. We ate the fixed menu for two and they were happy for us to share with the kids, and even added extra bread and baklava for them. Not every restaurant is... More

Last night, we ate the food of heaven at Fairuz, a Lebanese restaurant in Marylebone. I am well acquainted with Lebanese cuisine: it is my favourite food on earth. However, the meal we ate was exceptional. Not only tasting like home cooked food, with a freshness that was impressive, the meze melted on the tongue. The best borek I've ever... More

One of our favorite restaurants. The mezza is wonderful and plentiful enough not to require a second course. The vegetable and fruit courses seem to have disappeared. The dining room is small, and the service can be hit or miss. Still and all, Fairuz remains one of our favorites.

Description
FFairuz restaurant in Londons Marylebone is named in tribute to Lebanon's most famous chanteuse and cultural icon - a sweet, unguarded idea that, if copied, could lead to Bob Dylan the chippie or Cliff Richard the burger bar. Fairuz the restaurant is one of London's more relaxed and intimate Lebanese restaurants, with comfortable, rustic dcor and a warm welcome. Fairuz still observes all the traditions: formal service, the instant appearance of olives and chilled salad upon arrival. But the dcor, cooking, and staff are all pleasantly flamboyant and at Fairuz there's a general bonhomie among the staff and clientele. The Lebanese cuisine bursts with Eastern Mediterranean flavours - old favourites like tabouleh, foul moukaaka, and moutabaal do new dance steps on your tongue. The raw meat starters are unmissable. Good vegetarian selection, of course, and there is complimentary fruit and baklava with coffee.

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
