Fish is well worth a visit. They have a huge range on the menu - enough for any choice. I wanted a particular style of dish, but with a different fish than was advertised - and the kitchen happily met the request. Superb! Dined Tuesday evening and it was busy. A popular place

Don't miss this restaurant when visiting Borough Market. Wonderful food, if you like fish. Good service. We'll eat there again, no doubt.

Dropped in for a quick lunch on 3/19. Outstanding cod with chips and mushy peas. Served how and fresh. Camden Hells belly washer. You cannot go wrong here.

There is a large à la carte menu and a short prix fixe (£22.95 for two courses). We opted for the prix fixe and the fish soup was particularly good, as were the kippers. Portions were fine. The wine list was comprehensive and there is a good choice of cocktails, and in particular gin and tonic. Service was a bit... More

Food is passable but not great, at least portion sizes are ok. However chips were poor quality and not served hot enough, so clearly been left on the hot plate too long. Club sandwich with fish rather than chicken was nice concept. Haddock was ok. Service is not particularly friendly, and not very attentive. Bottle of average Sauvignon Touraine was... More

Went here with friends on a Friday night. I liked the atmosphere - it's quite buzzy - the open kitchen, and its location in borough market. We had oysters to start which were good, and then my main course was moules marinieres. They were OK, bit really nothing special as the sauce was somewhat tasteless. My friends ordered battered fish... More

The location is wonderful and the ambience is great! Very busy but thankfully the tables are not too close together which adds to the feel of the place and despite being very busy you can hear yourself speak! I can thoroughly recommend the main course of smoked haddock, spinach, bubble and squeak, poached egg and hollandaise. Cooked perfectly and at... More

A friend and I booked at Fish for Saturday lunch. The Borough Market was heaving but once we got into the restaurant everything became calm and our table by the window gave us a great view of the market life going on outside. The wine list is very good and we had a decent bottle of Gavi. I had the... More

We booked prior going there, good idea and it was fully booked and were 5 (Saturday night). We had a nice round table close to the window with very nice seats. The menu is quite huge, with a lot of choice, had the fish soup as a starter, then cod fish and chips as main dish and crumble . The... More

On a positive note, this place has a good atmosphere with quite a buzz. The food is OK rather than stunning and service a bit patchy but pleasant. They sell a lot of the wine by carafe like many places now but annoying had run out of carafes at 7pm on a Friday- how does that happen I wonder in... More

Fish! Restaurant in the heart of Borough market, does what it says - providing the very best fish available in London to hungry customers. Established in 1999, restaurateur Tony Allan had a vision to transform the old 18th century Pea Shelling Warehouse into a fish restaurant. The airy interior encompasses the open kitchen where diners can watch the chefs at work. The restaurant opens out onto a large terrace, which is open all year and sits in the heart of Borough weekend market, with views of Southwark Cathedral.

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
