Birthday celebration dinner so we both went for the tasting menu less the recommended wines. Absolutely outstanding tastes and variety. Our only thoughts which we wanted to share, concern the ambience and almost clinical approach to service. All very pleasant but zero empathy and it's...More

After hearing so many good things we decided to go to la trompette for lunch. The service is excellent and very high end. The food matches this on all 3 courses and it is a fantastic place to sit (we spend 3 and half hours...More

Our first time having dinner at Trompette after hearing so many good things, its fancy on the inside, I want to say the decoration is a little bland, fancy but not exciting, the outdoors is much prettier not sure why they didnt carry the same...More

Wonderful restaurant that is a real busy spot & beloved by locals & visitors alike. Great French-style cooking without the heavy creamy sauces favoured by the northern French, it ridges towards the nouvelle cuisine end of the range & does it with great aplomb. The...More

This restaurant is completely unpretentious, the staff are friendly & welcoming, and the ambience is warm. The food was exceptional and not excessively expensive. In fact at £55 for 3 courses it's good value for money considering the quality of the food & service. The...More

We are currently on a tour of the best restaurants in London and this was one venue at the top of our list. Having already dined at Chez Bruce we were expecting big things and La Trompette didn't disappoint. The service is superb, the decor...More

We visited La Trompette for lunch on Easter Monday and it was excellent from start to finish. Firstly, the ambience and service is attentive yet discrete, exactly how we like it. Secondly, the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere without too much noise and the tables...More

This was our second visit, both for special occasions, although there's no reason why one shouldn't come here just for the hell of it. Both have been first class. First, the only downside; we booked for 7pm, because that was the only time available, and...More

Thank you. Have looked at the one on line and it all looks very fishy 😬

Considering my remarks about refusal to exchange normal to fish cutlery when a fish dish is ordered, the reply of La Trompette still is missing. This restaurant is located in Europe. If this experience would have happened to me in non-European countries, I would not have dared to ask for them. After all, La Trompette is not a McDo where you certainly don't expect it.

Frankly fish cutlery has become less and less fashionable even in top restaurants....also a good dishwasher does the job. Quality of products, cooking and service is more important.

La Trompette opened in 2001 and serves some of the best food in London but without the formality or prices associated with the capital’s top end establishments. We closed at the beginning of 2013 for a complete refurbishment, and have expanded to include a brand new kitchen, private dining and improved customer facilities. The new appearance has not changed the focus of the restaurant. The aim is as it always has been, to give all our guests the best possible dining experience from start to finish.
