I had my first experience of the Laughing Gravy last night after it had been recommended to me by a friend who has never been known to give a bad restaurant tip. Yet again, she was proven right. What a brilliant experience from start to finish. The artichoke dumplings recommended to me by our super-friendly and helpful waiter were to... More

I have lived in the SE1 for about a year and stumbled across 'The Gravy' as it's now affectionately known in our circle a few months ago. Last night was our fifth visit and this place never fails to impress. Very relaxed atmosphere, great attentive but relaxed service. amazing cocktails from a very extensive menu (one too many at times!)... More

Really disappointed to be told we couldn't fit one more person onto the end of our table despite the fact the place had at least 4 empty tables near us! I would have totally accepted this if it were full or if there simply was no room in the restaurant for staff to get past but there was plenty of... More

This is a place where adults get grown up food and kids are thankfully unseen and unheard. The food and wine are gray , the service is fine- its expensive but better value than the Borough market clip joints. We love it and so long as it's kid free, we'll use it as a hid- free posh noshery!

This is a very nice little restaurant in a curious location - half way down Blackfriars Road, somewhere you don't expect to find fine dining. I only had time for one course - the cod, but it was great. Perhaps slightly unfair to suggest the prices are a little heavy for Southwark.... Service great, plenty of other interesting plates.

Have been to the Laughing Gravy for dinner before but decided to visit for a Sunday roast and we were not disappointed. We arrived a little early for our table and although our table was ready, we opted to have a few cocktails in the bar first. The Ginger Tom and Cucumber Gimlet were incredible. We shared a starter, which... More

Highly recommend the food, the staff, the ambiance and the drinks list at this beautiful restaurant. An all round special experience whether it be a romantic evening, or night out with a group. It just won the Time Out award for the area too - I can see why and can't wait to go again!

What an outstanding restaurant. In the heart of SE1 lies one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. Friendly and well-informed staff that hold an abundance of knowledge of the menu and wines. The food is well thought out but not fussy and ALWAYS delicious, leaving you comfortingly full.

I've been a few times to The Laughing Gravy, with each visit giving me another reason to go back. The dynamic menu always keeps me interested as they change and adapt what they serve. The food itself is always of a very high quality without being pretentious. The serving sizes don't leave you wanting more, but also don't overwhelm you.... More
