Our welcome was simply exemplary, the discreet lighting at the perfect level, tables properly dressed and spaced, and staff always immediately there when required. The menu exceptionnel is a firm favourite, and the wine flight, although on the face of it rather expensive, provides very...More

We have been to le Gavroche a few times before and been very happy. For our recent visit we invited friends to join us to celebrate my birthday. We specified our dietary requirements, including that my wife was vegetarian and that, because of my hearing...More

Delicious and imaginative dishes. Attentive and discreet service. The set price lunch menu is a steal. Only drawback: you have to book 90 days in advance, and it doesn't work by email because they take phone booking first. You have to book within the first...More

We decided on the tasting menu with accompanying wines and it was fantastic from start to finish, the food was sublime, the wines matched perfectly and were different from normal, made us think out of the box. We ran out of adjectives to say how...More

We had the tasting menu with accompanying wines and it was an excellent and varied choice of dishes. Highlights were the cheese souffle and fish courses, slight let-downs were the cheeseboard (wide variety but not ultra-refined), and the main-course over-cooked, twice after being once sent...More

Set beside some of London's best parks and home to
world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed
thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of
London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is
haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is
vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic
streets will reveal that Michelin stars and
chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even

Yes, I did that as I'm not a fan of white wine. I ordered my wine by the glass separately, whereas my friends had the wine pairing. If you do the wine pairing, it costs more (I think about approx £150?).

The first UK restaurant to be awarded one, two, and then three Michelin stars, Le Gavroche remains a class apart. Since opening in 1967, this Mayfair bastion of French cuisine has been very much a family affair, and chef-patron Michel Roux Jr continues the tradition today. The elegance of the menu and the ambience is impeccably tailored, while the discreet service has won its own plaudits.
