Visited Le Gavroche last month for my birthday. This is our 5th visit, we always try and come down to celebrate my husband and myself's birthdays and to visit this wonderful restaurant for lunch. The standards have been consistent every time and the food is first class. The staff always make u feel so welcome and comfortable and the Emmanuel... More

Went for business dinner mid week. The bar was cramped and uncomfortable for the eight of us. The service was slow and inefficient. The restaurant is cosy but the tables are very close to each other. In order to get up had to ask somebody to get up and to climb over their chairs. The food was OK but the... More

Best set lunch for quality and value. Last came here for dinner when over in U.K. for the tasting menu and were wowed. Determined to revisit for lunch. As good as ever. Attentive and smiling staff. Minute attention to detail. Wonderful food. Michel visited tables, such a nice gesture. Needless to say the place was full. Three months anticipation for... More

The tasting menu with the matching wines was superb, and the whole dining experience exceeded our very high expectations. The staff were numerous, friendly, courteous, helpful, especially the sommelier who introduced the wines and how they matched the food of each course.

We try to book a lunch at Le Gavroche a couple of times per year but understandably it is a challenge as you can only book three months in advance by phone to the day and the line is only open Tuesday to Friday. There isn't a long wait but even if you call early be prepared to be disappointed... More

We have visited here with friends recently and they agreed it was just the best lunch and experience they have had in London. The lunchtime deal is just fantastic value and the quality of food, wine, service and décor are just superb! We try and visit as often as we can and have NEVER had other than a great time!... More

Wow, what a truly phenomenal dining experience. From the second you arrive you feel completely spoilt with excellent staff who welcome you in with warm open smiles. The exterior and interior is so tastefully decorated with Christmas decorations, rolling garlands and a huge Christmas tree on the stairs. The restaurant is set out so diners have almost privacy from other... More

We ate here as a group of six on a Saturday night, for a 40th birthday weekend. From the moment we entered until we left, we were to treated to the very best in hospitality. The food is fantastic, the service is just perfect, and the staff are absolutely second to none, with friendly, efficient, professionalism being the order of... More

We visited here a few weeks ago - we ate from the business lunch which may explain why our meal fell short of our expectations, however it is unwise for a restaurant of this class to offer a special menu if it is going to serve below par food. It was good but not up to the scintillating standard we... More

Description
The first UK restaurant to be awarded one, two, and then three Michelin stars, Le Gavroche remains a class apart. Since opening in 1967, this Mayfair bastion of French cuisine has been very much a family affair, and chef-patron Michel Roux Jr continues the tradition today. The elegance of the menu and the ambience is impeccably tailored, while the discreet service has won its own plaudits.

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
