Looking for fish and chips as a treat during our visit to London, Googled and found this place not far from our hotel. Made an online reservation just in case, we went early evening and it was very busy. Hubby had jumbo haddock and chips which he said were good I went for seafood platter which was tasty with good selection, both very generous portions with loads of chips. Had nice wine and draft pilsner urquell. A very pleasant meal served by pleasant staff. Will know where to come next time we’re in London.

Found this wonderful Fish Shop and Restaurant by pure luck, went in with wife and grandson and had brilliant meal. Fish was superb, chips in a basket separately served were crisp not greasy. Owner/Staff friendly, restaurant was spotless. All types of fish, all sizes small, regular, jumbo, with other sides available. also starter and sweet menus available. Best fish and chip meal we have had for long time. This will be a must on our next visit to London

SOOO happy to be back in our favourite fish restaurant! For August, North Sea Fish are opening Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 5 pm to 9.30 pm I believe, but ring them to check. Maybe they will extend their opening hours in September. Anyway, we had, as always, a wonderful meal there yesterday evening - for me, a jumbo grilled skate wing and, for my husband, jumbo fried haddock - absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. Kerrie and Ben, and their equally lovely, friendly team, run the restaurant to an extremely high standard and we will always return, again and again. Very highly recommend.

We've visited North Sea Fish restaurant twice on our visit to London and had the fish and chips, once cod and once halibut, and both were excellent. There is a much larger menu for those who want something else. We went on week nights and the restaurant was crowded--always a good sign, The staff was very attentive even with the crowd.

This is the sort of restaurant that you might pass by, look at the menu and think, ‘hmm, that looks really good’. I was initially put off by their prices but several years later those prices don’t look quite so bad. The menu is quite traditional but I don’t recall seeing Scampi listed on there. Like many of the better fish & chip places it offers grilled as well as battered fish. Between the three of us we had the Grilled Lemon Sole, Battered Cod and a Mixed Fish Grill. Out of the three my Lemon Sole was probably the winner although it was considering it was grilled a bit too soft in texture. Be warned, it is on the bone but you will be provided a fish knife. My friend remarked that his Cod was also too soft in texture and the Mixed Fish Grill featured a lot of batter. Otherwise the fish was all good (although not really all that oily as supremely fresh fish should be) and the chips decent enough in their ‘not too dry but not soggy’ composition…but there should be more chips in the basket. The guy sitting next to us had the Halibut and it looked seriously good. Unless you’re incredibly hungry then you probably won’t need a starter. I can’t comment on what type of oil they use for frying. The restaurant itself doesn’t exactly look like what you might expect a traditional fish & chips restaurant to look like – no white tiling and the kitchen is tucked away somewhere out of sight. In fact this place could overall benefit from an upgrade. Despite Fish’n’Chips supposedly being our national cuisine finding a really good chippy in Central London is no easy task. This North Sea Fish restaurant doesn’t exactly merit being a ‘go to’ destination for fish & chips that you would go out of your way for but if you’re in the area and have that itch or even curiosity for fish & chips then this is perfectly adequate and being within easy (albeit tucked away) distance from Euston/St Pancras/Kings Cross it should satisfy the curiosity of any passing tourist…Northerners might want to hop back on the train to return to where they will no doubt consider ‘proper’ fish & chips are served!

This place makes great fish and chips that I have been enjoying since 2011. The skate and rock salmon are the best, but the cod, the plaice, the haddock, and halibut are great too. Their chips are delicious and the gentlemen serving them are generous with the amounts they serve me. I also reccommend fried fish cakes, cod roes, and onion rings as well. The calamari, scampi, and prawns are nice too. You can also try their sausages battered or not, and the saveloys are as delicious. For those who do not prefer fried seafood, they offer grilled Sardines, Salmons, and Mackerels for takeouts.

We phoned the restaurant to find out if they would grill the fish for one of our party that couldn’t consume gluten and if we needed a reservation. We were informed that grilling wasn’t a problem and no reservation was needed. We headed over and arrived within 15 minutes of the conversation. They accommodated us without the reservation right away. When we ordered, the waitress told us that’s we didn’t grill the fish but she will accommodate us this one time. Even though it states on their menu to let the server know about any allergies and that any fish cam be grilled. And we had checked via a call earlier. There was also a huge leak of water that kept splashing down every few minutes from the ceiling.

Well we came for a meal the night before London marathon. The food was outstanding. Despite being very busy they made every effort to make sure the food was perfect and that you had anything you needed. They went above and beyond for my vegetarian husband after they advised they didn't have the vegetarian option available. Food was truly outstanding and I can't wait to come back to London to eat here again.

I wrote a couple of rave reviews for this restaurant 2 years ago before the pandemic based on the fish being fantastically fresh. Now unfortunately the fish has become bog standard, the sort you get in any back street chippy. The outlet operates both a take-away and a sit down restaurant and I have used both. I cannot fault the staff, they are great (as is the chips & peas). I would politely suggest to the management they review their fish supply and revert back to whatever their old system was.

I ordered haddock & small chips & a can of Diet Coke. Reasonably priced & good enough for a quick dinner before guitar jam. Fish was quite oily but cooked. Chips were very fulling. Would come back if in a hurry!

Exceptional customer service. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. The chips were refillable and they offered to bring these out so you did not even need to ask. Would highly recommend. They are located about a 10 minute walk from King's Cross and it was the perfect way to end our day in London.

Always our favourite restaurant on frequent visits but we had not been to London for five years..we were welcomed back so warmly to the comfortable and relaxing surroundings. The food choice was so tempting we did not know where to start. The seafood platter we had was top class fish, perfectly cooked and the most generous portion. The service was very attentive, caring and perfectly tailored to give us the best possible dining experience. Only a few minutes walk from St. Pancras, Kings Cross and Euston stations, a meal here often fits into travel arrangements but it is also an excellent place for a meal during the day or a relaxing evening out. Don’t miss an opportunity to eat here!

Didn’t have reservations at 7:00 pm on a Friday night but managed to get a table anyway. It’s gets very busy so I suggest you book ahead if you can. Very good variety of fish, not just your usual Cod - but they do have that! Unusual appetizers including Cod Roe and Sardines. The chips were fresh and crispy and there were other traditional sides available. French bread was exceptional and, according to the waitress, baked fresh in house each day. Good dessert selection - we had the apple fritter with ice cream. They do advertise gluten free but do check ahead. One couple next to us left because for some reason that evening everything had gluten. I was later told that it may have something to do with when the oil is changed in the fryer.

I was looking for the best Fish and Chips in near Kings cross station and North Sea Fish Restaurant came up. My group of 8 walked in the door and even though we did not have reservation they put together some tables and accommodated us. the wait staff could not have been nicer or more professional. They made drink and food choice suggestions. They time to get our food was the normal time you would expect to wait. When the food came, we all had gotten some form of fish and chips and the food was very hot. The fish portions were more than adequate, we were told that the chips and sauces were bottom less, no they said if we needed mor sauces or chips just to give them a wave. Then when checking on us they asked again if we needed mor chips or sauce, I turned to my wife and said that this restaurant has earned all the accolades they have gotten this is how you run a restaurant. Great job ladies and gentlemen.
