Red Pepper is a great local restaurant with good food and a friendly staff. Try to reserve a table on the ground floor as the atmosphere in this room is better than the basement.

We were a table of three, firstly I should say the pizza was good, a thin crust, very cheesy and tasty. The gluten free tagliatelle emerged as pasta quills (which I didn’t mind) but it was barely cooked, definitely the wrong side of dente. There...More

Whilst they are at pains to point out that they do more than pizza, which they do, the pizza was the main attraction for me. The restaurant is fairly small but we were welcomed effusively by the waiter and were quickly seated and had drinks...More

Description
In 1994, Red Pepper Restaurant set the standard for independent mid-price Italian restaurants in London by opening its doors to the public. It's secret: authentic pizza baked in its wood-burning oven brought over from Italy. Some of our regulars swear it's the best pizza in London and who are we to disagree? But Red Pepper is not just about pizza. We are dedicated to the best regional Italian cooking, from places seldom featured on most "nouveau Italian" menus - dishes from Sardinia, the Campania and the south; home-made, melt in the mouth pasta; sauces based on game and seafood, grills of the best, freshest catches of the day. Red Pepper restaurant is small, cosy, informal and welcoming. Whether you eat inside or alfresco, when you come to Red Pepper you come to a place where you can feel the pulse of London. Many locals, some of them good cooks and cookery writers regard it as their "second kitchen". It has been acclaimed time and again and been awarded for its honest rustic take on regional Italian food and service through the years.
