Walk into Wilton's and you are transported back to an age when cuisine consisted of exceptional quality produce, prepared simply to deliver an explosion of tastes now largely forgotten with simply impeccable service. Outstanding dishes recommended: beef consommé like your grandmother made if you were REALLY lucky, the best turbot you have (n)ever had (poached!), perfectly cooked asparagus, carrots to... More

I have just finished another great meal at Wiltons. To my knowledge, there is simply not a better fish restaurant in England. There are other good restaurants, but no Wiltons. For decades after decades this institution is simply providing perfectly cooked seafood using the absolute best raw materials. The Dover Sole is legendary and when they have fresh Scottish langoustines,... More

This is a classic, old fashioned, elegant British restaurant with exemplary service, excellent seafood, and prices to match. Food prepared beautifully, and staff is very polite.

Great seafood, great service, great place. This is classic English food at its best. Located in a beautiful part of St. James, easy to access and great for an after meal walk. Expensive, but worth it!

A very English place (since 1742) in the heart of Mayfair and in case you expect something stuffy and old, a place of times past, make no mistake. The place was packed, the food very English and original with great seafood. Service impeccable and fast..all under control. A place one should not miss when visiting London. I truly hope this... In between shopping for those desirable items of clothing the modern man must have please take time out of your wanderings to lunch at Wiltons on Jermyn St. This more than alluring establishment reeks of history, in the best possible way, and is the very essence of old English elegance, on a budget. Lunch can be had for a handful... More

Wiltons attracts a specific clientele - older, comfortably off, corporate, with a significant overseas representation. It is all very nice; with nothing being edgy or risky. Service is smooth and professional; it wouldn't surprise me if some of the waiters have been there for a very long time. The food is what you would expect; simple, old-fashioned; excellent ingredients and... More

We were hosted for dinner by another couple as part of my wife's birthday celebration. The restaurant was spot-on English with great bar service and extremely helpful wait staff. The dinner was expensive but worth the price and expertly prepared and served. We will put Wiltons at the top of our list for another visit when we return.

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
