As has happened to so many great places in the area, rents have now become impossible. After many years of exceptional food and wonderful food it is with deep regret I advise it is now closed. I would recommend Bibendum just across the road if...More

We are very sad to announce POISSONNERIE-CHELSEA RESTAURANT will cease to exist on the 24 May 2015 after 53 years of good food and service to the Chelsea community. This has been an historic restaurant. Serving an all international clientele. PETER ROSIGNOLI and his faithful...More

We have been going to Poisonnerie de l'Avenue for a long time now, its very old fashioned so tends to miss out on young clients (they don't know what they are missing) but we go and love it, its an institution, the service is fabulous,...More

I first went to the Poissonnerie when I was 19, many many years ago!! Since then when my husband and I have been in London we have treated ourselves to dinner at the restaurant. Today having been to the Chelsea flower show we staggered in...More

This place is only 20 mins' walk from our home in Gloucester Road, so I'm surprised we've not given it a try before last night. After all, it's been there for years! This is a fine dining, French fish restaurant with a lovely, old fashioned...More

I have visited this very established restaurant on many occasions. I get the feeling that some of the team are rather tired and that their old rule of invisible presence has been forgotten. There were three waiters ( one was inexperienced ) who spent their...More

The maître d would not blink an eye, so discrete is this place ! It is where a godfather can take his pretty goddaughter; where a couple who might have danced at the ' Four Hundred ' in the 1950's can feel at ease in...More

I hadn't been here for many years. The menu didn't appear to have changed much - brandy snaps, prawn cocktail! The fact that it was half full when most London restaurants are full to bursting should have warned me. Much of the fish did not...More

A mixed bag of reviews just shows how subjective experiences can be. Our party of three found the welcome and service professional and the food rewarding. This is one of the very few places with turbot on the menu and all of us enjoyed it....More

The decor, ambiance and cuisine all geared for 60+ year old patrons. Food 'okay' at best. Burnt scallops, lumpy hollandaise and pitiful sides...£4 for 10 chips or a small bowl of spinach. Was not impressed at all.

Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's
upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops,
eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at
its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely
unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this
showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price
tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down
pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal
