Took my boyfriend here for his birthday. I wanted it to be special, exciting, different but not too expensive or pretentious. It met every single expectation and more. We had tasty exciting food including crocodile and ostrich - I'm a pescatarian and was still blown away by the whole experience. Waitresses were lovely. Boyfriend said it's the best restaurant he's... More

I visited the restaurant a couple of months ago, with a couple of friends I recommended it to, because I'd been there several times a years ago. I'd always had totally positive experiences here. This time, it was plainly disappointing. Food: The menu seems to not have changed for the last 5 years or so. Food is nice although I... More

This restaurant is small and intimate, unusual and surprising from the first. Even the reservation was strange - we were given a password! The décor is eclectic, busy and wonderful; peacock feathers, Egyptian papyri, hats, masks, Buddhas, navigational implements, fans etc. The staff are friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. They explain things. The menus are served in bottles or pretty boxes... More

My son was desperate to try this restaurant so we took him for his 18th birthday. We had a great meal and tried some strange and wonderful things - snake carpaccio, ostrich, bug salad, alpaca, chocolate covered scorpion - all good. My only problem with this restaurant is that my son is a wheelchair user and the toilets were down... More

I was on a date and my friend decided to bring me to Archipelago. The place has a lot of atmosphere, with little touches that make the experience really special. The drinks menu was inside a bottle with sand, the dessert menu was inside an old book. The staff was very professional and nice, and recommended not to serve alcohol... More

The restaurant sets the scene as soon as you walk in, it's brilliant- you're greeted by different animals, ornaments from around the world and a real feel for the exotic. This mixed with the menu and whole experience is incredibly unique and brings a great atmosphere. You have to set out to be adventurous - it's all part of the... More

We visited for my birthday and what a unique experience it was. Between us we tasted python, kangaroo, bee, zebra, alpaca and crocodile. We enjoyed the experience together with the atmosphere and the ornaments. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

My husband and I visited this restaurant as he wanted to try snake. We had snake carpaccio and belly pork for starters, alpaca and ostrich for mains and ice cream with a bee and a chocolate fondant for dessert. My husband also had the love bug salad, side order of pupae and a visit from the doctor. The food was... More

We thought we'd try something different on our trip to London this time and we found this quirky menu with weird and wonderful delicacies from around the world. You have to be adventurous to eat here but most of what we tried was gorgeous. The restaurant was small and extravagantly decorated in animal feathers, exotic bird cages, etc. The bathrooms... More

Had a wonderful meal. Tasty, varied and a little bit exciting at times, We all loved the food. Smaller than you would think, only a sliver of a restaurant, perhaps less than 20 covers, which is why it's so good for couples. Bottom line is that the staff were very attentive, professional. The food was awesome. It is expensive, but... More

Description
If Archipelago were a film it would definitely be one of the Indiana Jones series. First, the menu features all manner of exotic beasties - locusts, zebra, crocodile and second the decor is an exotic mix of golden buddhas, dwarf palms and giant peacock feathers. The staff will talk you through each dish, but there's also chicken, fish, lamb and extensive vegetarian options. It's a great night out for the more adventurous - or if you happen to be having Ray Mears to stay.
