We happened on this place by accident, had two dishes from the lunch special menu - beef noodle soup and chicken & vegetable crispy noodles - and were very impressed. The food was really tasty and good value too.

The popularity of this place speaks volumes. It's cheap & cheerful. The food is fine. The atmosphere vibrant and gloriously chaotic.

Was recommended by a friend as one of the good authentic Vietnamese food in London. So decided to give it a try. My experience can be summarized below: Food: Plenty of Vietnamese food selections in the menu. Food portion and taste was acceptable. Atmosphere: Bright canteen style setting. However, the environment inside is rather chaotic. Narrow walkways in between tables... More

My girlfriend brought me here promising good tasting, proper Vietnamese food. Maybe the expectations were too high, maybe it was a busy night. End of the story, they forgot the drink order (after 15 minutes we had to remind one of the very busy waiters), the starter (banh khot) was OK, the mains (bun bo hue) bland and poorly cooked.... We were celebrating my daughter's birthday and we wanted to have a nice pan-asian cuisine and we were not disappointed! The starters and drinks came lightning fast and the mains even before we finished our starters but we did not feel pressured! We are definitely going back! The spicy squid is sublime!

Having just been to Vietnam we wanted to compare what we tasted when in Saigon. Some dishes were excellent. The fish filet was great. Others looked and tasted more like a Thai or Chinese meal with identity issues. Pho looked good but we didn't order it. Of course we said it couldn't be as good and... It wasn't. However if... More

I went to this restaurant with some expectation of authentic Vietnamese food. Nothing more misleading. I had beef noodles, first all all the meal looked ugly some noodles thrown on the plate, they didn't use fresh bean sprout or spring onion, and couple of pieces of beef at the side of the table. My friend had seafood noodle, again plain... More

I have seen this restaurant many times when I went to Kingsland Road, then i did decide to choose this place for dinner last week as I always saw that this restaurant is always busy and lot of guests. I enjoyed some Vietnamese dishes there, named: morning glory with garlic, salt and pepper squid and ended up with grilled pork... More

So after researching which Vietnamese restaurant in London we should try, we finally opted for Song Que Cafe as we were going to be in the area. From the starter to the main course everything was delicious and enough to satisfy our hunger. The standout dish for me was the spring roll, which I'd never had before. A delicate wrap... More

My teenage son #2 is a pho connoisseur, the type who makes pho from scratch (very non cost effective and takes at least 8 hours). He has studied pho since a very young age, and we have been fortunate to have lived in several cities with healthy expat-Vietnamese population serving fine pho, e.g. Vancouver and Montreal. He has also tasted... More
