went for brunch and to say the prices were extortionate would be an understatement. HALF an avocado was 3 pounds. i had a muffin which was cheaper which was nice but could probably buy it in tesco. doll sized portion brunch plates range from 9 pounds up not including drinks. I Went with my mother who has a prosethetic leg... More

The Providores is an old favourite. Downstairs has a fun, slightly hectic vibe that I love but this evening we ate upstairs. In my memory the upstairs dining room was rather soulless but in reality, while there's none of the vibrant hubbub of downstairs, it was much cosier than I had remembered. But the important thing - whichever floor you... More

Great place in the hearth of Marylebone. The place offers two options: a welcoming and warm Tapas bar on the ground floor, and a fusion restaurant upstairs. The latter had been my choice. all in all a great place. Small and cozy eating room, I wouldn't suggest the place for a big team or group event. The atmosphere is soft... More

Over the years my wife and I have grabbed coffee in the Tapa Room (best in London imho) and dined once or twice in the lovely upstairs restaurant (brilliant!) but last night was the first time we ate in the Tapa Room. What a joy! The service was warm, smart, helpful and professional. We had two children in our party... More

An exceptionally good dinner for four last night. The aubergine starter was outstanding and so was the venison main. Nice helpful staff.

Excellent breakfast. Loved the turkish eggs. Busy on the weekends. Called in advance, we were offered seating upstairs without wait. It is now a London tradition for us when we are there.

Heard about this place a few years ago as being one of top tapas restaurants in London and have to say it didn't disappoint. We didn't have a reservation but managed to get into the more casual bistro cafe downstairs. Lively, ambient, and service was spot on. Tried the classics such as chorizo, sweet potato tortilla and pork dishes all... More

This place was recommended for a special celebration of four birthdays so we had high expectations. we were upstairs in the restaurant proper rather than the tapas bar and expected great things. The service was sloppy, erratic and slow. We waited half an hour before they thought to take our order although we had finished one bottle of wine by... More

We ate upstairs and enjoyed a couple of good bottles of wine. The food on the other hand was average and complicated. Somewhat pretentious. And prepare yourself for a large bill

I always see queues outside Providores on Sundays and Ive been curious to try it. Booked it for the Xmas dinner menu on a weekend. The menu look enticing and I was looking forward to it. It had received mentions in a few magazines for a Christmas dinner. Firstly - cocktails took about 20-30 minutes to arrive. That is after... More

Hi there, I was really disappointed to read your review. Would it be possible for you to let me know the night you dined? I can then look into who was serving you and also who was actually preparing your food. Hopefully we can then improve! Thank you for your comments and have a great holiday. More

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
