Went in for a dinner with a friend, encouraged by good reviews here. I had their sirloin steak, which was tasteless, very chewy, and served hardly warm - the herb butter on top didn't even begin to melt! We haven't been to Shampers for years and years but decided to revisit it as we were going to the Wigmore Hall for a concert. Well we are glad to say it is as good or better than we remember it. An interesting menu that certainly caught our attention and the dishes we chose were every bit as good as... More

Went to Shampers for a Christmas Do. Food was excellent and well priced. Great choice and pleasant staff. Will go for a meal with partner when next in the area.

It was around 6.15 we arrived and we wee welcomed and sat at our table served with drinks and bread and I was impressed with how they kept track of the orders and who had ordered what. The food arrived in good time with hot food hot and cleared in a timely manner ready for main which again was delicious.... More

I started coming here about 7 years ago when I realised that the majority of English wine bars offered truly crap food. Shampers had already transformed into a french-style restaurant, albeit with a true and stunning interest in wine. Over the years i've become friends with practically the whole staff, so i'm unashamedly pro-Shampers. Yes, it's full of people escaping... More

I have been here once before with my parents but unfortunately at the time my mother and I were not drinking for lent (not ideal!). So this time when I returned with my father and sister I made sure to grab a good bottle of wine from their extensive wine menu! It is such a fabulous little restaurant slightly off... More

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
