Went there with friends on recommendation from guide book and was not disappointed. Nice decor, simple, but very tasty (and a bit unusual) food, and very good service. We came for a late weekday lunch without reservations and were able to be seated, but the...More
This place has the greatest food and friendly staff. I have been 3 times with friends and we had the Dover Sole (incredible) lamb chops, gorgeous fried rabbit, lashings of crab on toast (wow), cod roe salad and lamb kidneys ( so good). Highly recommended....More
If you want the best of English don’t go here. Used to be great but now sadly declined – very poorly cooked overpriced mediocre food and disinterested service. The kitchen send out bland poorly presented food. Left there hungry as food so badly cooked, poor...More

Revisited this place after a period out of London and was so disappointed... Thought the crab starter lacked crab and the guinea fowl was overcooked. The other guys enjoyed their meal but the overall view was that it was only average and the costs quite...More
It seems like Hereford Road Brexiting or preparing to do Hara-Kiri ? Certainly not what it used to be, and obviously cutting massively on the "food cost". My first course was "gem salad" with anchovies, except there wasn't a single anchovy in the plate (just...More
