I've been using the Hoop and Grapes for a regular group booking for the last couple of years. Mike and the team are friendly, helpful and accommodating. All of our group like the venue, the team and the beers. We will continue to come back again and again.

On Farringdon Road this offers a haven for those looking for a simple pint and some time away from the craziness outside.

Nice London pub, with good food and good prices. Service is friendly. Also has a lot of real ales for the beer lovers.

Firstly both beers on tap here - Whitsable Bay & Spitfire - were fantastic, served exactly as they ought to be. And the rooms upstairs are great for watching football or the world go by from its windows. Spacious patio area too and general homely vibe throughout the venue. Will be making sure to duck in for a pint whenever... More

Chose this pub to meet our nephew who works in London whilst we were down on a half term break. The website states the pub has an illustrious past as the site where Fleet Street journalists married in Victorian times. We were seeking a proper spit and sawdust pub for a few beers and a hearty pub meal. We were... More

I was shocked upon reading this review as it is so out of keeping with the general feedback from other Tripadvisor reviews. I have contacted the reviewer for more information so that I can investigate their concerns and address them and to clarify that the review has been posted on the correct page as there is another Hoop & Grapes... Booked for my 60th birthday meal. Excellent service and lovely food-between us sampled the steak and burgers. Good sized portions and good value pub food with lots of choice if ,like us, you like good unfussy fare. There was a lively but welcoming vibe to the pub and all the staff were smiley and nothing was too much trouble. We... More

Visited the Hoop and Grapes a couple of times now and it's nothing less, nothing more than what you expect from a pub in London. Prices are around £5 a pint and the feel is old yet warmly. The one thing that makes this pub stick out however is that it has a dart board! Very difficult to find around... More

This is a great old fashioned London pub with a nice little courtyard, where we sat in the summer sun and had lunch. Unfortunately, I ordered the Chilli con carne, which was the most bland dish I've ever tasted. Avoid this dish at all costs! Good beer though

Drink prices were reasonable and a nice house Chardonnay...could not venture to the outside patio area due to the torrential rain and thunder. Lovely friendly cosy pub.

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
