My wife and I enjoyed lunch here after a visit to the Royal Academy of Arts. I had the chicken, leek and tarragon pie with a side of purple sprouting broccoli and wife had fish and chips. Food was very good and service was attentive without being overbearing. We each had a glass of wine to accompany our meals. Prices are... More

My husband and I had a delicious lunch. As expected the food and drinks were superb, and the service exceptional. The ambience is lovely, casual and relaxing. Highly recommended.

Tend to eat here often. Nice open feel and well spaced tables. Had a double portion of dressed crab with fries and my friend had the fish and chips which is always good. The accompanying white wines were excellent. Nice friendly service.

We had the 3 course meal deal and it was excellent from start to finish: great service, food (delicious & decent portions), drink and atmosphere. Of course it is not the cheapest, but you are at one of the most famous stores in London and definitely get what you pay for.

Readers need to know that I love Fortnum & Mason, the store's employees are delightful and the tea is the best I have ever had, so I was really looking forward to have cream tea at the Gallery, but I I got was two very dry small scones and a pot of tea. All the staff at the gallery looks... More

The hostess said the chef had to redo our fish because he wasn't satisfied. After 45 minutes it came and had a bloody red section where it wasn't cleaned properly. The hostess reduced my 28 GBP bill by 4 pounds! But I pointed out that the waiter had charged us 6.75 for a tea I didn't order. Awful place.

What better way to celebrate Christmas Eve than with food, wine and friends, and the opportunity to watch grown men arguing over the last box of F&M mini mince pies? We had old school Welsh rarebit, and a perfect cheese soufflé with piccalilli together with a carafe of wine. Light, tasty, perfectly executed, just what we wanted.

We always love visiting Fortnum & Mason and seeing the beautiful displays. We thought we'd enjoy a cup of tea with scones at the Gallery this time - just up the stairs at the back of the ground floor. It was a disapointing experience. The service was poor - although there were a few waitresses, we had to wait a... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
