A small, fish restaurant on the edge of Borough Market. Concentrates on oysters but a range of other fish dishes available. Seating is a mixture of tall small tables with high stools, bar counter stools and a few conventional tables and chairs (book these in advance if you want one). Yesterday we had a small high table with stools (though... More

If you want to spend some money and have an awesome plate of Oysters, some great wine, or stout, some fresh bread or some grilled fish, then you can't beat the Wright Brothers. One of my favourite places to eat in London.

I am used to eat goulash and pig so this has been an experience out of my comfortzone. The full house platter was AMAZING! :)

What a great discovery, we were sat down at 3 and departed at 6, it was simply great, oysters, fish soup were excellent. Main course fish and crab dishes off the specials were superb. Wonderful staff and service. When can I go back?

This restaurant is on a side street at the edge of Borough Market and the long narrow room with bare brick walls is open-plan combining the bar, dining space and kitchen. Seating is either at the long bar or on large solid tables (where you may find yourself sharing). The atmosphere is relaxed and intimate. Having eaten dinner here on... More

This has to be one of the best seafood restaurants around. Small and compact but atmospheric and fun. The food is to die for, the service superb. Very competently run with flawless precision. What a place to celebrate a birthday. If you like your seafood make sure you put this place on your list - but don't get sidetracked by... More

After a long walk along the South Bank, Supper of Oysters and Crab was a must. Very crowded (should have booked), staff rushing to serve (but always with a smile), Good wine list or, if you prefer like me, Guinness with the oysters!

Our award-winning Oyster & Porter House is situated at the heart of London's bustling Borough food market next to London Bridge. Our small but perfectly formed dining room is made up of a long oyster bar and high tables. It is relaxed, informal and full of life. The open kitchen, counter seating and blackboard menus all add to its magic. Naturally, our speciality is oysters and throughout the year we offer a wide range, sourced from the best producers around the British Isles and France including our very own oyster farm in Cornwall. Grab an outdoor table, sit back, enjoy a plate of oysters and a glass of wine and soak up the atmosphere of the thriving market - we've been told it's one of the hottest spots in London. Head chef Rob Malyon has a passion and flair for great ingredients cooked simply. We sell only fish and shellfish from sustainable stocks and source as much as possible from small Cornish day boats, embracing our 'sea to plate' philosophy.

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
