An excellent place to enjoy some fantastic food and drink right in the heart of Soho. Cocktails were great and the food was decently portioned and delicious. Be sure to book ahead though as it gets busy, especially Friday nights and the weekend.

We recently dined at Balans and found the food, staff and Cocktails very pleasant. For a very competitively priced eatery (with a fantastic selection of high end spirits) I was actually surprised by the quality of their food across the board. When a restaurant is...More

Visiting London with my boyfriend and met up with friend. Great place for a bite to each, decent house gin and a great atmosphere. Shocked when we got the bill... in a good way! Will be going back.

This place has a great atmosphere from the moment you walk in. It was busy when we visited but that added to the atmosphere rather than being off putting. Our server (Marek) was great and made some recommendations as I couldn't decide what I wanted....More

Ordered the potato salad and halloumi thinking it would be tasty and healthy and Greek. A huge pile of tasteless mashed potato with a great big slab of halloumi arrived. Cherry tomatoes with balsamic vinegar were the only things that would cut through the bland...More

Not for the fainthearted, Balans Soho Society is a place to indulge. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner and after-dark activities in the company of fellow bon vivants. It's a café, a restaurant, a bar, a member's establishment and definitely a place where rules are made to be broken. And it's all done in the spirit of Soho - the iconic corner of London that has always acted as a refuge for outsiders: minorities, eccentrics, bohemians, dreamers...people drawn together by a shared conviction that normal rules don't apply to them. A place to go when you feel like doing things you probably shouldn't. We are Balans Soho Society and we live by the philosophy that too much of a good thing is a GOOD THING, the best plan is NO PLAN and that the pursuit of pleasure is a noble one. Even if the pleasure itself might not be. Let us banish the jobsworth, the wet blanket, the killjoy. Those who are easily shocked should be shocked more often. LET CURTAINS TWITCH. All hail the rogue, the rascal and the reprobate. We have a way of dealing with outsiders: INVITE THEM IN for a drink.
