We went with a party of 14 chefs and foodie customers - party size changed twice and we were accommodated beautifully by Peter, none of the usual stuffy that'll cost you type of nonsense! I pre arranged a budget with Peter and left them to choose the dishes which were served family style in the middle of the table -... More

Really enjoyed dining here, its elegant and in a trendy location but it doesn't lose any of the comforts we want when dining away from home. The service was friendly and helpful, the wine better and the food worth waiting for; the duck special was the best I've tasted and we'll enjoy the retrun trip I'm sure.

Great greeting when we arrived , the service was very friendly and perfect , our waitress could respond to any helps we needed . And the food was lovely , I could say that I love Spanish food but with a twist of Portuguese cuisine it's just fabulous. Will recommend this place and definitely will be back very soon !

I gather this is a trend, up and coming area of London; just perhaps not on a Friday lunchtime when it was very quiet. Serving staff were very pleasant and starters of sliced marinaded steak & chorizo particularly good. Main courses not as good - too much lemon/garlic/capers rather overpowering, liver a bit chewy and cabbage side dish in such... More

I work nearby and use both the restaurant and bar area for light or more serious lunches, and occasionally dinner. The staff are friendly and know what they are talking about. The interior has hardly changed since opening and is comfortable without being sloppy. The food and wines are not only good quality, but very consistent, which no doubt explains... More

My family of 6 adults had a Saturday dinner here because it was within walking distance from where we live and we have a newborn child. After making our reservation I read TA reviews which may be considered generally favourable. The decor is welcoming and informal with comfortable seating. We had several appetisers which tasted average and certainly not freshly... More

I chose the place based on Tripadvisor reviews thinking it was an interesting restaurant/cuisine concept for our Friday dinner. I was so terribly disappointed...There was no staff at the reception, so had to ask for my reservation at the bar, where the lady mumbled something not politely, recommending me to speak to another staff member. Although both my partner and... More

This is a little gem. It's been here for 16 years apparently so its got staying power which is always very good to hear in London. Very nice lunch with a well explained menu. It's quirky with the food. The giant prawn was amazing. Will definitely come back and recommend.

This place is absolutely fantastic, and a very good addition to the Shoreditch restaurant scene. It offers a very nice bar/lounge area, where you can grab a drink with some small plates...or even sit at the bar if you are dining solo. And has another more regular restaurant area if theres a few of you. The staff are attentive, warm, welcoming and knowledgable.... More

Great food, nice wines. Great service. The food was succulent. Nice décor but lacks a bit of atmosphere I thought.

Staying in Shoreditch

Neighbourhood Profile
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighbourhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbour can result in fascinating outcomes.
