Went with family and friends for afternoon tea. Very good and a very nice venue. The staff were very good and we were looked after. Tea of your choice plus other drinks, sandwiches and small cakes all replaced when eaten. Recommended.

My husband & I decided to go to the assembly house for lunch after walking past it I don't know how many times & saying 'we must go in there for lunch'! We were not disappointed. I opted for 1/2 sandwich & soup with chips, the soup was parsnip & pear which was delicious, it warmed me up perfectly on... More

Been for afternoon tea twice it is amazing!!! Would not hesitate in going back again lovely homemade cakes, scones and sandwiches. Was treated to the Christmas afternoon tea with music last year and this had some lovely festive cakes. Lavender tea is lovely!!

My daughter and I had a table booked for 2.30 one afternoon but didn't want the classic afternoon tea, mainly as we both think it's too expensive. We have been given a gift voucher so decided to use it on a late lunch. we had a ham sandwich and posh cheese on toast. Both presented nicely but I thought the... More

We were very lucky to stay in these lovely rooms at the Assembly House, I am a "Passport" Holder which also entitles me to some discount and our stay was worth every penny. The room was very large, well appointed and very tastefully decorated, with lovely big comfy bed and we even had our own private patio which would be... More

Had a very uninspiring dinner here some years ago, but was excited to hear Richard Hughes had taken over, as my single favourite restaurant in Norfolk has always been The Lavender House. Took my partner for mid week birthday dinner, wasn't expecting a Michelin Star dining experience, not even the superb standard of the Lavender House, but what a disappointment... More

Been here previously with my mum, however, came here in May with my friends to celebrate my birthday. The afternoon tea is lovely - there is a range of sandwiches, AMAZING scones (you get fruit and cheese) and then a range of cakes which were different each time I visited the Assembly House. Lovely building in the city centre just... More

Oh dear. How the standards have fallen since the first brunch here. Once very high now equally low. No table service. Buffet only. Hot food barely tepid. Plates cold. New years resolution - don't return to Assembly rooms for food and keep an eye on other 'passport emperor's in this group to make sure they don't follow the flagship.

We have returned from a wide ranging trip to Norwich. We know most streets well, especially King's St. The sat nav took us to a road which had been pedestrianised and then a large car park. We saw a grey sign for the hotel. It took us to King's St yet again. Later we took the next turn and found... More

Lovely building, went for a coffee and cake. Food ok but service terrible. Slow and completely disinterested. Staff need to be focussed on the customer, not completely ignore them
