Third Whitby Fish and Chip restaurant tried in the short time here, and by far and away the best. Pleasant service, certainly the best quality fish tasted, and comfortable surroundings. The 'package' is very good value for money, professionally presented in a friendly manner.

We were told that this is the BEST fish & chips place in the world... I don't think I could agree with that, but certainly wasn't disappointed. The portion size is big enough, batter on the fish is good, chips is hot and tasty, Curry...More

We thought about going in but decided to take out instead. Not a wise choice. A small hand full of chips, dried up mushy peas and a very small cod that I think had been refried. All for over £7.

Seated, ordered, but still waiting after ordering 40 minutes ago. I’m sure the food will be great but I can’t rush back due to the service. The ‘lady’ in reception was almost aggressive in trying to manage those queuing. Sad sign of the times. Our...More

We had the most delicious mussels as a starter (the portions are big) and shrimps with haddock in a cream leech sauce as a main. Truly mouthwatering all of it, coupled with a very tentative staff. We can highly recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant is in excellent condition throughout and very clean, the staff are friendly and efficient. The menu is extensive, however it was lunch and we just wanted Cod & chips. We noticed that several customers were ordering small potions of fish & chips, all...More

My wife and I have been visiting the Magpie for many years and on a short break we went for dinner on two nights. The first night was brilliant, we shared a scallops starter, then one of the specials, fish skewers with satay sauce and...More

Food is amazing there. All the chips are cooked at least twice anyways. That's how u get them crispy and yummy. 😁
